Overview: The Saatva Classic Mattress

The Saatva Classic mattress, named after the high-end mattress specialist, is the best-selling luxury mattress in America and a top choice overall. One of the main reasons it’s been highly acclaimed is its exceptional relief in the lumbar region of the body, including the back and neck. A hybrid poly/memory foam is strategically placed in the middle of the mattress’ foundations. This foam provides much-needed support for back sleepers. It also gives stomach sleepers a sense of comfort, in the same way, making the Saatva Classic a sought-after mattress for the folks who sleep flat.

Because of the way that the coils were designed, Saatva’s cooling abilities are exceptional. Two innerspring layers – one a foundation layer and the other for extra support – are strategically placed to allow for air circulation throughout the mattress, ultimately keeping the body cool while they are asleep. Additionally, the spring coils are responsive under changing movements, making the mattress a handy one for those who often change sleeping positions and also for couples during their intimate moments. There are multiple sizes and firmness options for the Saatva Classic, including Firm, Plush Soft, Firm, as well as Luxury Firm.

Who should get the Saatva Classic Mattress

  • People who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs.
  • Combination sleepers, who frequently change their positions
  • Those who sleep in hot temperatures – the mattress has enough airflow to cool them
  • Couples looking for a mattress that isn’t too firm at the edges
  • People looking for a bed that is comfortable during sex will be happy with a bed that performs well.
  • People who prefer to be in a sturdier, firmer, and durable mattress

Now that we’ve covered an overview of all we need to know so far about the Saatva Classic, let’s take a look at the other four mattress companies and their best-selling offerings. Each one will be compared, highlighting similarities and key differences. The four companies we will be focusing on in this article are Sleep Number with their 360 p5 Mattress, Tempur-Pedic’s popular TEMPUR-Cloud, DreamCloud’s namesake Classic Mattress, and Purple with their highly innovative flagship mattress. Let’s get started with Sleep Number without any other obstacles!

Saatva vs. Sleep Number

Sleep Number is known for its wide range of adjustable air mattresses equipped with high-end features. With just a simple touch, sleepers can adjust the firmness or support level to suit their needs. Sleep Number has been in business for more than 30 years. While other specialty mattress companies have been around for much shorter, Sleep Number already knows a thing or two about how to provide a comfortable yet flexible experience to the sleeper. Sleep Number’s popular product is the 360 p5 mattress from the Performance series.

Similarities

The Sleep Number 360 p5 Mattress works exceptionally well for flat sleepers, just like the Saatva. It is partly due to the construction of the mattress. Multiple foam layers are stacked on top, providing much-needed pressure relief. This helps to ease a variety of pains in the lumbar region and back.

The 360 p5 doesn’t come in a big box. Similar to the Saatva, white-glove technicians carry the mattress to your home, so there are no issues with off-gassing.

Differences

The 360 p5 has a different construction – it is an adjustable airbed. This explains why it is more expensive than the Saatva. It also contains memory foam, which usually traps heat in the mattress plus makes up for slower responsiveness under constant movement. Despite its cons, the 360 p5 has better motion absorption than Saatva. This is great for couples or individuals who don’t want to be disturbed.

Who Should Get the Sleep Number 360 p5 Mattress?

  • Sleepers on the stomach and back
  • People who have back problems may be affected.
  • Individuals looking for a mattress with adjustable firmness and relief levels
  • People who don’t like being disturbed while they sleep

Saatva vs. Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic has been recognized over the years for its memory foam mattresses made to provide better comfortability and relief. Even though the company only added innerspring hybrid variants very recently into their lineup, there’s no denying that they are certified experts and leaders in the field. TempurPedic mattresses are a common choice when you visit a mattress shop to find the best memory foam mattress. While there are many models to choose from, in this article we’ll take a look at the TEMPUR-Cloud, their most well-received product.

Similarities

Both the TEMPUR-Cloud and Saatva Classic are highly-acclaimed mattresses from well-respected mattress companies with flowery reviews about their overall reliability. Both mattresses are made from high-quality materials, which ensures that sleepers have a restful and comfortable night. In addition, the TEMPUR-Cloud works wonders for those who usually sleep on the back, with enough pressure relief and support to keep the spinal alignment intact.

Differences

The TEMPUR-Cloud mattress may provide luxury-grade back relief the same way as the Saatva, but it’s more expensive. It’s an all foam mattress that is made of high-performing materials. Expect it to be more expensive than the Saatva’s $912.

Being a memory foam mattress, the TEMPUR-Cloud should have a softer firmness level. It also allows for excellent body contouring, which is great news for side sleepers. While it may sound positive, take note that this mattress will most likely be prone to sinkage, which may cause restrictions in movement, especially among heavy-weighted sleepers.

Who should get the Tempurpedic TEMPUR Cloud Mattress?

  • Those who prefer sleeping on memory foam
  • Side sleepers and back sleepers who enjoy soft pressure relief and contouring
  • Individuals and couples looking for a mattress where one of them is not easily disturbed by sudden movements
  • Sleepers who are light- to medium-weight

Saatva vs. DreamCloud

Just like Saatva, DreamCloud is a direct-to-consumer firm that offers luxury-level mattresses that seem to be a perfect fit for hotels and million-dollar mansions. In the same light, its products are innerspring variants made up of materials that exceed industry standards. The DreamCloud Classic, which is similar to the Saatva Classic, is one of the most popular products. Although we are proud to have found the closest competitor, there are many differences that make the DreamCloud Classic different from the Saatva mattress.

white-bed

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Similarities

The innerspring coils in the DreamCloud as well as Saatva provide reliable, strong support. Each mattress has a layer of pocketed coils that is placed on top of the foundation layer. This provides the body with both the support it requires and cooling capabilities to prevent it from becoming too hot. The mattresses are firm enough not to allow for any sagging at the edges and comfortable enough to be used by anyone. They are extremely durable and will last for many years.

Differences

DreamCloud’s key difference is that it’s a hybrid since the top memory foam layers are prominent. There is only one firmness option. If we rank it from 1-10, it would be a solid 7 It may be supportive enough for average- to heavyweight sleepers, but a bit stiff for lighter-weights.

It is worth noting that the Premier upgrade has an improved comfort level due to the increased memory foam content. Another key difference is the price, as it costs significantly less than Saatva’s retail price.

Who should get the DreamCloud Classic Mattress

  • Those looking for a great mattress with a tight budget
  • Stomach sleepers or side sleepers, preferably of average-level weight
  • People who like to sleep on a firmer surface
  • For back sleepers, the Premier upgrade is worth a try

Saatva vs. Purple

While other bed companies offer mattresses with a combination of features that are all too familiar to nearly every one of us, there’s one that makes it clear they are outstandingly unique from the rest. If you don’t already know by now, Purple is a mattress specialist that specializes in developing groundbreaking technology to further improve the person’s sleep quality. Their purple grid, which is state-of the-art on their mattresses, is what makes them stand out. Without much ado, let’s take a close look at the Purple Mattress, the company’s most famous product yet!

Similarities

Despite the glaring differences in how they’re constructed, both the Purple Mattress and the Saatva Classic perform remarkably when it comes to cooling. Purple’s signature GelFlex Grid is specially designed to allow breathability within the mattress, keeping the person cooled in the same way as Saatva’s innerspring coil system.

They are bouncy enough to allow sleepers to move easily without any hesitation, and in many different ways. The best thing about them all is the way that high-quality materials create a mattress that’s both comfortable and supportive.

There are differences

The Purple and Saatva may both work in mysterious ways, but if you were to try each of them for yourself, you may notice a key difference in terms of how it feels. Thanks to the grid technology, Purple is more gel-like and flowy than Saatva’s plush yet firm feeling. The former also isolates motion better. The Purple Mattress comes compressed in a box upon delivery, which may result in a quite unpleasant off-gassing compared to how the Saatva’s delivered.

Who Should Get the Purple Mattress?

  • Sleepers under 230 lbs. They should apply sufficient pressure to activate GelFlex grid contouring capabilities
  • Combination sleepers looking for a more flexible mattress than, say, the Saatva’s
  • Hot sleepers who prefer all-foam mattresses
  • People who sleep with their restless partners at night

Firmness and Feel

When it comes to searching for the ideal mattress, feel and firmness are only a few of the essential elements. How firm is the Saatva Classic on your body? Does it have enough strength to allow you to sleep in different positions? Or is it too stiff to your liking? We tried it out for ourselves to discover what we could find!

Is Saatva Good

How firm is the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying levels of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. The answer to this question will depend on the individual’s experience and personal specific circumstances. However, if you’d like to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness which ranges from 1 to 10.

We started our test by sleeping on The Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked as 3/10. What we’ve seen right off the bat is how it was extremely comfortable lying on the side with the pillow at its top. We felt as if we were more likely to be in the body of Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other models. However, this more flexible feel may not translate well for people who tend to lie flat, either on their stomachs or on their back. Is Saatva Good

Next up, we have the Firm version, which is a stark contrast to the Plus Soft in terms of material and stiffness. We barely felt our bodies sink into the mattress. This model certainly lives up to its name! This is especially great for those who sleep flat on their backs or stomach, as it offers much more apparent support. Some people may have issues regarding sleeping on their sides. But despite this we rate this product an excellent 8 out of 10.

In the case of this Luxury Firm version, one of the first things we noticed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils which hold the mattress together are more firm, which makes this variant of the Saatva different in terms of design. In this case, as we lay on our backs, not only did we get the right amount of sinking as well as the support that we needed. Similar results could be achieved for sleeping on the stomach, but for side sleeping? Based on your individual experiences of the person, this may be unpredictable. On that note we rate this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 /10 on the scale of firmness.

Testing with Varying Body Weights

In addition to the test for firmness, we’ve also experimented with the way different body weights react when sleeping on three versions of the Saatva Classic. We’ll start with the Plush Soft mattress. Made from the less durable coil foundation and an even softer pillow top, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite among light-weights. People who weigh 130 to 200 pounds may appreciate the body hugging and sinking feel of this Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Is Saatva Good

The Firm mattress may be too stiff for those that weigh under 175lbs, but for those who weigh a lot more than that, this mattress is likely to be the best choice. With a sturdier foundation throughout the firm mattress, it provides the most stable support when it comes to sleeping on the belly or the back specifically with heavyweights. For those who weigh less, they could find lying on the bed a bit uncomfortable, with not enough soft foam surface to remedy this.

bed-mattress

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

For the Luxury Firm mattress, the majority of its attributes are sufficient to cover a wide range of body weights. If you’re either someone who weighs 130lbs or 250 pounds, you’ll experience a sense ease and comfort while lying flat on the back with this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from this as well, although it could require more support for heavier folks. For side sleepers, it’s generally good for most body weights, however it’s somewhat of a gamble.

Performance

What is the way that do the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even how it performs in intimacy, we dug further deep to test its performance levels. These are the results!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva is not the best in terms of motion isolation when as compared to other hybrid mattresses. The foam layer built within is only one-half inch, yet the mattress is still able to absorb a significant degree of motion due to its state-of-the-art fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not be effective in separating motions. Its Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better when compared to.

If you’re in a relationship, and you’re looking towards a mattress that one of you is moving and you don’t have to be able to tell then it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the best. When we tested it out for motion transfer We noticed how one of our team members slowly became distracted when the other member began making movements – from minor to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for having poor motion absorption and the Saatva is composed of innerspring components. It’s also an unsuitable mattress particularly when you’re a light sleeper who is frequently disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to relieve tension experienced by the body’s tension points. We evaluated the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by placing the map of pressure on the surface. Upon receiving the results, it has shown that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, provides stellar pressure relief at the back. For hip and shoulder points it can be different based on a range of factors like the firmness level the individual’s situation, as well as the weight. Is Saatva Good

Temperature Control

Its Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we couldn’t be more certain that this is one of the best with stunning cooling abilities. It has two layers of spring coil, one of which is pockets. The structure allows air to flow throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling those who normally rest hot. It’s not just able to cool down temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made from organic cotton, making Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for anyone living in near-tropical conditions, and for couples that, if they sleep together, have a greater chance of heating the bed than a single person.

Edge Support

Edge support is a measure of how well the edges of the mattress stand up to. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. Upon testing, we ruled that they’re sturdy enough to allow individuals to sleep near the edges without having to worry much about sagging, sinkage or falling off the bed. This is due to a foam encasement that’s placed around the coils inside the mattress. The durability can differ based on the firmness levels and the firmness of Saatva. Couples like this will not feel too much sinking on either the Firm or Luxe Firm options but may experience a bit of discomfort along the edges with Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Also, those who are heavier will feel more sinkage than lightweight ones.

Sex

In the event that you or your companion are sexually active It is essential to choose an appropriate mattress that will respond well when it comes to being intimate with your partner. Here’s the place where Saatva Classic comes in, with a strong combination of responsiveness and friction making fully designed for a variety of sexual activities. The pillow top conforms to bodies when they are in proximity to its surface, and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movement however not so loud as for the annoying squeaking sound. The strong edge support allows the couples to take full enjoyment of the entire surface of the Saatva. While the Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of sexual traction however, it was a bit sluggish in comparison to its more robust counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, what sets it apart from other mattresses is the fact that it doesn’t take up a lot part of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad after the purchase and delivery. When we received the Saatva mattresses to test We noticed that, instead of the typical cardboard box delivery people from the delivery company arrived to set the mattress for us. We also examined whether it emits less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ than other similar ones, which went away quite quickly – this may be due to how it was constructed. Is Saatva Good

Ease of Movement

The Saatva has been found to have a greater ease of movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, due to the interestingly unique combination of innerspring and polyfoam that is used to create its foundation. The bed is fixed against the physique of the person as they lay on the surface, but returns to its original form quickly as soon as they leave it. For comparison, mattresses with an upper layer of memory foam will adhere to the body in the same way as usual, but the feeling of being ‘trapped in a comfortable environment’ is more prominent which makes it difficult for the person to get out.

white-bed

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Noise

Innerspring beds have made a bad rep through the years for their irritating sounds that get worse upon continuous use. The Saatva Classic, on the contrary, doesn’t fit into this category. As we mentioned before, the mattress’s core is an encasement of foam that’s wrapped around coil systems. It not only provides solid support around the edges, it also muffles out the noise coils normally make. We tried changing places and moving around the bed, we were amazed by how there was less noise, squeak and buzz were produced. But since the Saatva mattress is supported by coils, you shouldn’t expect the no-noise features to last long.

Durability

After we’ve had the chance to test all of the performance tests on the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we need to ask are the following questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be able for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure and the way it performs in regards to comfort, relief, and movement and comfort, the Saatva is expected to be sturdy enough to last up to around 7 to 10 years.

Materials

The Saatva Classic is composed of at minimum four layers each of which has unique abilities. However, when they’re taken together, they make an extremely durable, strong and bouncy reliable hybrid mattress that is suitable for any purpose. Let’s look at the different elements and components that compose the Saatva bed.

Layer 1 Layer 1: A soft and breathable Surface

The initial layer is an inch-thick Euro pillow top that serves as the mattress’s sleeping surface. It’s made up of a mix of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to create a cushioned and comfortable area for you to lay down on. In both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm versions there is the product is made up of a 1.25-inch thickness of soft polyfoam has been used, and the Firm option uses 1.5″ worth of firm polyfoam.

This top quilt is made with the specially-designed Lumbar Zone Quilting design to offer much-needed relief from pressure on the hips and back. Organic cotton is used to cover the pillow’s top surface. It is not only comfortable and breathable, but it also has plenty of antibacterial qualities.

Layer 2: A Blend of Foam for Enhanced Lumbar Support

Across all three firmness levels the support foam is inch thick and is placed under the first layer to create a much superior lumbar support system. This special foam is composed of the majority of the mattress is composed of polyfoam, while the remaining part is made from memory foam. It is placed strategically along the middle of the mattress, allowing the back to be more aligned without producing any form of discomfort that might arise. Is Saatva Good

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Layer of Support

The Saatva’s third layer is a support layer in addition, it is it is one of two coil systems that make up the mattress. The 4-inch-thick, individually wrapped micro coils made of foam is flexible enough to conform to different body shapes and ever-changing movements. It also facilitates breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeper cooled and away from getting too hot.

Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core

The underlying structure of all three layers is a solid foundation made of hourglass steel coils underneath the three layers. Customers can choose between two different heights of a 4-inch layer to fit mattresses measuring 11.5″ or 7-inch for 14.5″ mattresses. The core coils assist the foam-pocketed coils in producing an increased airflow system within the Saatva, plus the industry-grade components are strong enough to support heavier individuals and objects. Around them is a strong foam perimeter encasement.
