Firmness and Feel

How firm can the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying firmnesses: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. Answering this query depends on the individual’s experience and personal conditions. If you’re looking to know about it firsthand we’ve put each 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our firmness scale, that ranges from 1-10.

We began our experiment by sleeping on our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at as 3/10. The one thing that we’ve observed right off the start is that it felt so comfortable while sleeping on its side, with the pillow on at the top. We felt like we were getting in the body of the Saatva Classic thanks to its more supple foundation than other foundations. However, that more malleable feel may not translate well for those who rest flat, whether on their stomachs or their back. Linkedin Saatva

Next up, we have the Firm variant which is a striking difference to Plus Soft in terms of the materials used and the rigidity. It was hard to feel our bodies sinking into the mattress. This model certainly does live up to its name! This is especially great for people who sleep on their backs or stomach because it provides more visible support. Certain people might have problems with sleeping on the side. However, we give this rating a solid 8/10.

When it came to the Premium Firm version One of the first few things we observed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils, meanwhile, which keep the mattress in place are more firm, making this version of Saatva mixed in terms of design. As we lay on our backs, not only did we get the right amount of sinking, but also the support that we needed. It’s the same with sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on your individual experiences of the person, this may be a bit of a hit or miss. On that note, we give this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 out of 10 range of firmness.

Testing with varying body weights

Apart from the firmness test, we’ve also experimented with the way different body weights react when sleeping on three variations of Saatva Classic. We’ll start with our Plush Soft mattress. Made from a less sturdy coil base and a more soft top layer, it’s no wonder why it’s been favored among lightweights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 pounds may appreciate the body hugging and sinking feel from Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Linkedin Saatva

The Firm mattress may be too stiff for people who weigh less than 175 pounds, however when you weigh way over that, this version is most likely the better alternative. With a more solid foundation all over, the Firm variant offers much more solid support when it comes to sleeping on your stomach or back, especially for those who weigh a lot. For those who weigh less, they might find sleeping on the bed a bit uncomfortable, with not enough soft foam surface to ease this.

In the case of this Luxury Firm mattress, the majority of its attributes are sufficient to cater to a broad range of body weights. If you’re one who weighs 130 pounds (or 250lbs), you’ll find a sense of relief and relaxation sleeping flat on the back on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers might like too, but it might require additional support for heavier folks. For side sleepers it’s generally suitable for most body weights, although it can be somewhat of a gamble.

Performance

What is the way that this Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even to how it reacts during intimate moments, we dug deeper to determine its capabilities. These are the results!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva was lackluster in motion isolation compared against other hybrid mattresses. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is less than one-half inch, yet the mattress still manages to absorb a significant degree of movement thanks to its ultra-modern fiber fill. The two firmer options may not be able to isolate the motion. The Plush Soft variant, however, fares a little better when compared to.

If you’re in a romantic relationship and you’re looking forward to a mattress where one of you is moving and you don’t have to even notice, it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the most suitable. When we tested it out to see if it could transfer motion and we noticed that one of our group members gradually became distracted when the other person started moving – from minor to moderate and eventually high-intensity. Mattresses made of innersprings have been known for their poor absorption of motion, and the Saatva is made up of innerspring parts. It’s also a bad mattress choice for you, particularly when you’re a light sleeper who’s easily disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to ease out the tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We determined the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by laying out the map of pressure on the surface. After receiving the results, it has shown that the mattress, in three different levels of firmness gives excellent pressure relief in the back. For shoulder and hip points it can be different based on a variety of variables like the firmness level, personal circumstance, and weight. Linkedin Saatva

Temperature Control

The Saatva Classic mattress may be many things, but we couldn’t deny that this is one of the top ones with stunning cooling abilities. The mattress has two layers of spring coil, and one of them is pocketed. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling people who typically are hot to sleep on. It’s not just able to cool down temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made from organic cotton, which makes it Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds made with memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for people living in tropical conditions and for couples who, if they share a bed, can have a greater chance of heating the bed than just one person can.

Edge Support

Edge support is a measure of how strong those edges hold up. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. In our tests, we found that they were remarkably solid enough to allow people to rest near the edges without worrying much about sagging, sinkage, and falling off the mattress. This is caused by the foam encasement which is wrapped around the coil layers within the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the firmness levels and the firmness of Saatva. Couples, for example, might not experience any sagging on either the Firm or Luxe Firm alternatives, however they may be able to feel a little discomfort around the edges when using the Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more may feel more sinkage than the lighter ones.

Sex

If you and your partner are sexually active, it’s crucial to find an appropriate mattress that will respond effectively when being intimate with your partner. Here’s the place where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of both the ability to respond and friction, making it optimized for a wide range of sexual actions. The pillow top is shaped to the bodies in close proximity to its surface, while the innerspring base causes the mattress to bounce enough to allow for movements but not loud enough for the annoying squeaking sound. The firm edge support allows couples to take full enjoyment of the entire area of Saatva. Although it’s Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of sexual traction but it did not feel as comfortable in comparison to its more robust counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But what sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon the purchase and delivery. As we were receiving the Saatva mattresses for testing, we noticed how, instead of the usual cardboard box delivery the delivery staff arrived to set the mattress for us. We also checked whether it emits less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ as compared to other mattresses, which went away quite quickly. It could be due to how it was built. Linkedin Saatva

Easy of Movement

Saatva Saatva has been shown to have better ease of movement compared to other hybrid mattresses due to the intriguingly unique combination of innerspring and polyfoam employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed sticks to the body of the person once they lie down on the surface however it returns to its original form quickly when they get off of the bed. To compare, mattresses with a memory foam top conform to the body per usual, but the feeling of being trapped in comfort is much more apparent, making it a bit difficult for the person leave.

Noise

Innerspring beds have made a bad rep through the years due to their annoying sounds that get worse upon continuous use. The Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully fall under this stereotype. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s core is an encasement of foam that’s wrapped around coil systems. It not only provides solid support at the edges, but it also blocks out the sounds that coils usually create. When we tried out shifting places and moving around the bed, we were amazed by how much less noise as well as squeaking produced. However, as it is the Saatva mattress is supported by coils you shouldn’t expect the no-noise capabilities to last for long.

Durability

We’ve managed to conduct all performance tests for the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we need to consider is some of the questions below: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be able to last?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and structure and how well it is able to perform when it comes to comfort, relief, and movement and comfort, the Saatva will be durable enough to last up to approximately 7-10 years.

Materials

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is composed of at minimum four layers, each with distinct capabilities. When they are taken together, they make solid, durable as well as bouncy and solid hybrid mattress that can be used for any purpose. Let’s have a closer review of the various layers and materials that make up the Saatva bed.

Layer 2: A Combination Foam to Provide Enhanced Lumbar Support

Across all three firmness levels the support foam is inch thick and is placed under the first layer, creating a superior support for the lumbar region. The foam is made up of majority of the foam is made of polyfoam. The remainder is made from memory foam. 4. The Sturdy Foundation Core

Each layer is held by a solid foundation made of steel hourglass coils that are underneath the three layers.
