Emma is a common sight online these days, especially recently through their rigorous usage of online marketing. While Puffy is a proudly Canadian company, Emma’s source of their technologies comes from their German-born designs geared explicitly towards temperature control and spinal alignment.

From European design, we now move to the proudly New York-raised mattress company Nectar. Once viewed as one of the fastest-growing e-businesses in the US as well as a top place to work, Nectar promises a suite of different mattresses shipped directly to your door.
Nectar has similar foam technology to Puffy, and offers a wider range of mattresses. Will this more extensive catalog be what brings Nectar above Puffy as a bed brand?

Nectar has not 1, not 2, but 3 total mattresses available on its website for purchase, all with varying degrees of softness, plushness, and even material compositions. Although Nectar already has a clear advantage over Puffy in terms of the variety of options, it is still unclear if more choices will equal better quality mattresses.
Nectar’s original 12-inch Nectar Memory Foam mattress was their first mattress. The five layers of this mattress are similar to the Puffy foam mattresses. Their Nectar Smart Layer is the first layer. This gel memory foam helps relieve pressure due to its high density construction.
The Nectar Smart Layer is then supported by two more foams, the Nectar Dynamic Support Layer and their Stay-Stable Support Layer. These foams help stabilize your body as you sleep, minimize motion transfer, and keep the mattress on the base. This is all wrapped in Nectar’s quilted Cool Cover that regulates temperature and Nectar’s shift-resistant lower covering, which provides stability by securing the mattress to the bed frame. The Nectar Memory Foam mattress may be a good choice if you are looking for a mattress that is medium-firm and allows your body to be wrapped in memory foam as you sleep.
There is a Premier version of the Nectar Memory Foam mattress that looks similar to the Puffy and Puffylux versions. Getting any of the premium versions will be a bit heavier on the pocket, naturally. A queen-sized Nectar Premier will push you back $1299, while the even more luxurious Nectar Premier Copper will cost you $1699. Still, these mattresses are already a great deal thicker than the ones Puffy has on offer. We had to include Casper. Casper was not included in a comparison of the best soft drinks. Casper’s high price is a common comparison with newer brands but it remains a top choice for many shoppers looking for a mattress.
Puffy makes Casper’s higher prices a reason to choose the Puffy mattress. Will Casper bow out to this newer Canadian brand?
Types of Mattresses Available
Unlike Puffy’s limited options, Casper impresses with four different mattresses to choose from, 3 of them having two variants each. This means that Casper has roughly seven mattresses you can choose from depending on your sleep style and preferences.
Casper’s first mattress, a traditional foam mattress, uses two layers of foam to construct its entire construction. Known as the Element mattress, this is Casper’s entry-level mattress for those looking for something simple with no frills. Casper uses their proprietary Airscape perforated foam as the top layer of their mattresses to better let heat escape while you sleep. Below this is their high-density foam base that prevents sagging and supports your whole body while you rest.
Next up on the Casper catalog is the Casper Original. Three layers of foam are used in the Casper Original. The first is the Airscape foam. This is followed by the Zoned Support Memory Foam. The Zoned Support foam is unique because it is essentially an area-specific memory foam, with some parts being firmer than others depending on which component needs more support (hence the term zoned).
What’s interesting is that you can get the Casper Original as a hybrid mattress. Hybrid mattresses have become more popular because they combine new memory foam technology and the reliable design of inner coils that are better than older mattresses. These Casper coils add lift to your bed and structural support to help you stay in bed when you need to and get out of it when you’re done.
The following two mattress types are much more premium than what we’ve seen previously. The Casper Nova Hybrid Snow Mattress was specifically made for heat regulation.
