Firmness and Feel

When it comes to searching for the right mattress, feel and firmness are just some of its essential aspects. How do you feel the Saatva Classic on your body? How firm can the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. Answering this query depends on your personal experience and the conditions. However, if you’d like to know about it firsthand we’ve put each 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness ranging from 1 to 10.

We began our experiment using the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked as 3/10. What we’ve seen right from the start is that it felt so comfortable while lying on the side with the pillow at its the top. We felt like we were closer to getting in the body of Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other foundations. However, this more flexible feel might not be a good fit with people who often sleep flat – either on their stomachs or their back. Saatva During Spring

Next up, we have the Firm version that is a stark difference to Plus Soft in terms of the materials used and the rigidity. We barely felt our bodies sink into the mattress – the model certainly does live up to its name! This is especially great for those who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs because it provides more apparent support. Certain people might have problems when it comes to sleeping on the side. But despite this we rate this item an 8/10.

When we looked at the Premium Firm version one of the initial things we noticed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils which keep the mattress in place are more firm, making this version of Saatva mixed in terms of design. In this case, as we lay down flat on our backs, not only did we have the proper amount of sinking, but also the support that we needed. The same could be said when sleeping on your stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on different personal experiences, it may be hit-or-miss. In that regard we rate the Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 /10 on the range of firmness.

Testing using a variety of body weights

In addition to the test for firmness We’ve also analyzed the way different body weights react when sleeping on three different versions of Saatva Classic. Let’s start first with the Plush Soft mattress. It is made of a less sturdy coil base and a soft pillow top It’s not surprising that it’s been popular with light weights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 pounds might appreciate the body-hugging and sinking feeling that comes with Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights might find them to be an issue. Saatva During Spring

The firm mattress could be too stiff for those that weigh under 175 pounds, but for those who weigh above that, this model is probably the more suitable option. With a sturdier foundation throughout, the Firm variant offers the most stable support when it comes to sleeping on your side or on the back particularly with heavyweights. People who weigh less could find lying on the bed to be somewhat uncomfortable, as there is not enough soft foam surface to ease this.

For this Luxury Firm mattress the majority of its attributes are sufficient to cover a wide range of weight a person can carry. If you’re either someone who weighs 130 lbs (or 250lbs), you’ll experience a sense peace and ease while sleeping on the back with this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers may enjoy this as well, although it could require more support for people who are heavier. In terms of side sleeping, it’s generally good for most body weights however it’s somewhat unpredictable.

Performance

What is the way that the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even to how it behaves during intimacy, we dug further deep to test its performance levels. Here is the result!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva is not the best in its motion isolation, as compared with other hybrid mattress. The foam layer built within is thinner by only one-half inch, yet it is able to absorb a significant degree of motion thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. The two firmer options may not be able to isolate motions. However, the Plush Soft variant, however, fares a little better in comparison.

If you’re in a romantic relationship, and you’re looking forward to a mattress where one of you moves and you don’t have to even notice, the Saatva Classic may not be the best. We tested it for motion transfer, we saw how one of our team slowly lost focus as the other member started doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for having poor motion absorption, and the Saatva is made up of innerspring elements. It may as well be an unsuitable mattress particularly if you’re a light sleeper who’s often disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to relieve tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by drawing an image of pressure on its surface. Upon receiving the results, it’s been discovered that the mattress in three different firmnesses, provides stellar pressure relief at the back. In terms of shoulder and hip points it can be different based on several factors including the level of firmness as well as personal circumstances and weight. Saatva During Spring

Temperature Control

The Saatva Classic mattress may be many things, but we’re able to be more certain that this is one of the most comfortable with incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress is made up of two layers of spring coil, one of which is pocketed. The structural frame permits air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling down individuals who usually rest hot. Not only is it able to cool down temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made of organic cotton, which makes the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for anyone living in near-tropical conditions, and for couples who, if they share a bed, can heat the bed more quickly than a single person.

Edge Support

Edge support is a measure of how strong the edges of the mattress stand up to. In the case of Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. In our tests, we found that they were noticeably sturdy enough to allow individuals to sleep near the edges without having to worry too much about sinkage, sagging and falling off of the mattress. This is due to an encasement of foam that is placed around the coils inside the mattress. The durability can differ based on the firmness levels that are present in the Saatva. Couples like this may not feel too much sliding on the Firm or Luxe Firm alternatives, however they may feel a certain degree of discomfort at the edges of Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Also, those who are heavier will experience more sinkage than lightweight ones.

Sex

If you and your partner have a sexually active relationship it is crucial to find the right mattress that responds with ease when being intimate with your partner. That’s where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of both responsiveness and friction making fully optimized for a wide range of sexual activities. The top of the pillow conforms to bodies when they are in contact with the surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be buoyant enough to allow for movements but not loud enough for the annoying noise of squeaking. The strong edge support allows couples to take benefit of the entire area of Saatva. Although the Plush Soft comfort level may provide a little traction for sex but it did not feel as comfortable in comparison to its more robust counterparts.

Off-gassing

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But the thing that sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much in the bed. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon the purchase and delivery. When we received the Saatva mattresses to test, we noticed how, instead of the typical boxes of cardboard, delivery personnel arrived to put the mattress for us. We also examined the way it released less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ as compared to other mattresses, which went away quite quickly – this may be due to the way it was constructed. Saatva During Spring

Ease of Movement

Saatva Saatva has been shown to have better ease of movement than other hybrid mattresses due to the intriguingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination that is used to create its foundation. The mattress is bonded to the body of the person when they lay down on the surface, but recovers its original shape as soon as they leave the bed. To compare, mattresses with the top of memory foam are shaped to fit the body as normal, however the feeling of being ‘trapped in a comfortable environment is much more apparent which makes it difficult for the person get out.

Noise

The innerspring beds have received a bad rep through the years for their irritating noises, which gradually get more pronounced with continued use. Saatva Classic, however Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully fall under this stereotype. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s structure is a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around coil systems. This not only offers solid support at the edges, but it also muffles out the noise coils usually make. As we experimented with changing places and moving around the bed, we were amazed by how there was less noise, squeak and buzz generated. But since the Saatva mattress has coils supporting it, you shouldn’t expect the no-noise capabilities to last for long.

Durability

We’ve managed to conduct all performance tests on the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we have to ask are the following questions: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be expected be expected to endure?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure, and how well it is able to perform when it comes to comfort, relief, and motion as well, the Saatva should be durable enough to last around 7 to 10 years.

Materials

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is composed of at minimum four layers each of which has unique abilities. When they are taken together, they make solid, durable, bouncy, and overall solid hybrid mattress that can be used to serve any purpose. Let’s have a closer look at all the components and layers that comprise the Saatva mattress.

It is then quilted using the specially-designed Lumbar Zone quilting design that is designed to provide much-needed pressure relief on the hips and back. Organic cotton fabric is used to protect the pillow’s surface. It is not only breathable and soft, but it also has a lot of antibacterial qualities.

Layer 2: A Blend of Foam to Provide Enhanced Lumbar Support

Across all three firmness levels, an inch-thick support foam is placed under the first layer, creating a better lumbar support system. This special foam is composed of these components majority of the layer is made of polyfoam. The rest is composed of memory foam. It is strategically placed along the middle of the mattress. This allows that the spine to more align without creating any discomfort that might arise. Saatva During Spring

It also facilitates breezy air circulation, keeping the sleeping person cool and preventing them from getting too hot.

Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core

Holding all three layers is the solid hourglass steel coils underneath the three layers. Customers can choose between two sizes that are 4 inches for mattresses measuring 11.5″ or 7-inch layers for 14.5″ mattresses.
