How firm can the Saatva Classic?

The Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. What is the best choice for you will depend on the individual’s experience and personal specific circumstances. If you’re looking to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each of the three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness ranging from 1 to 10.

We started the experiment off by sleeping on our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked as 3/10. What we’ve seen right from the start is that it felt so comfortable while sleeping on its side, with the pillow on at the top. We felt as if we were getting in the body that’s Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other ones. However, this more flexible feel might not be a good fit for those who rest flat, whether on their stomachs or on their back. Saatva Guarantee

Next up, we have the Firm variant, which is a stark opposite to Plus Soft in terms of the materials used and the rigidity. It was hard to feel our bodies sinking into the mattress – the variant certainly lives up to its name! This is particularly great for those who sleep flat on their backs or stomach since it provides more obvious support. Some people may have issues with sleeping on the side. However we rate this product an excellent 8 out of 10.

When it came to this Luxury Firm version, one of the first few things we observed was how soft it felt on the top of the pillow. The coils which keep the mattress in place are more firm, making this particular version of Saatva mixed in terms of design. In this case, as we lay down flat on our backs and slept, we not only receive the correct amount of sinking as well as the support that we required. Similar results could be achieved when sleeping on your stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on your individual experiences of the person, this could be a bit of a hit or miss. On that note we rate this Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 /10 on the scale of firmness.

Testing using a variety of body weights

Apart from the firmness test We’ve also analyzed how different body weights respond when sleeping on three different versions of Saatva Classic. Let’s start first with our Plush Soft mattress. It is made of the less durable coil base and a more soft top layer, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite among light-weights. Average-weighing folks between 130 to 200 pounds might appreciate the body-hugging and sinking feeling from the Plush Soft, but heavyweights might have an issue. Saatva Guarantee

The firm mattress might be too stiff for people that weigh under 175 pounds, but for those who weigh over that, this version is likely to be the best alternative. With a sturdier foundation throughout the mattress, the Firm model offers much more solid support when sleeping on the belly or the back especially for those who weigh a lot. For those who weigh less, they could find lying on the bed to be a bit uncomfortable, with not enough soft foam surface to ease this.

With the Luxury Firm mattress, the majority of its features are adequate to cover a wide range in bodyweights. If you’re either one who weighs 130 pounds (or 250lbs), you’ll experience a sense peace and ease while sleeping on the back on this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers might like this as well, although it may require extra support for heavier folks. For side sleepers it’s generally suitable for most body weights, but it’s somewhat of a gamble.

Performance

How does the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even how it behaves during intimacy, we delved further deep to test the performance of the Saatva Classic. These these are our findings!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva is not the best in its motion isolation, in comparison to other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is thinner by only one-half inch, yet the mattress still manages to absorb an impressive amount of motion due to its state-of-the-art fiber fill. The two firmer options may not be able to isolate the motion. However, the Plush Soft variant, however performs a bit better in comparison.

If you’re in a relationship and you’re looking forward to a mattress where one of you moves and the other doesn’t even notice then the Saatva Classic may not be the ideal. We tested it to see if it could transfer motion We noticed how one of our team slowly became distracted when the other member began moving – from minor to medium and finally high-intensity. Mattresses made of innersprings have been known for their poor absorption of motion and the Saatva is composed of innerspring elements. It’s also a bad mattress choice particularly when you’re a light sleeper who’s frequently disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to ease out the tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by laying out a pressure map on the surface. When we have the results, it has been discovered that the mattress in three different levels of firmness provides stellar pressure relief at the back. As for the shoulder and hip points, this can vary depending on a range of factors including the level of firmness the individual’s situation, as well as the weight. Saatva Guarantee

Temperature Control

Its Saatva Classic mattress may be many things, but we couldn’t say that it’s one of the best with stunning cooling abilities. The mattress is made up of two layers of the spring coil, and one of them is pockets. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate through the mattress, ultimately cooling those who normally rest hot. It’s not just able to cool down temperatures and keep them cool, but the top of the pillow’s cover is made of organic cotton, making Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid mattresses made of memory foam. It is a great cooling mattress for people living in a tropical climate, or for couples who, when they share a bed, can have a greater chance of heating the bed than one person could.

Edge Support

Edge support refers to how well those edges support. In the case of Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges hold up very remarkably. In our tests, we found that they were noticeably solid enough to allow people to lie on their edges without having to worry much about sagging, sinkage and falling off of the bed. This is because of the foam encasement which is placed around the coils within the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the level of firmness of the Saatva. Couples for instance, might not experience any sliding on the Firm or Luxury Firm alternatives, however they may experience a bit of discomfort at the edges of the Plush Soft. Also those who weigh more may feel more sinkage than lightweight ones.

Sex

When you are with your spouse and are sexually active, it’s crucial to find a mattress that can respond with ease when being intimate with your partner. This is where the Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of responsiveness and friction making fully optimized for a wide range of sexual activities. The pillow top is shaped to the bodies in close to the bed’s surface and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movements however not so loud as to produce the annoying squeaking sound. The firm edge support allows the couples to take full benefit of the entire area of Saatva. While it’s Plush Soft comfort level may provide a little sexual traction, it felt quite lacking when compared to its more rigid counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But the thing that sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much of the mattress. It doesn’t smell as unpleasant upon purchase and delivery. When we received the Saatva mattresses for testing we noticed that instead of the usual boxes of cardboard, delivery personnel arrived to set up the bed for us. We also examined whether it emits less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ as compared to other mattresses that went away quickly. It could be due to how it was constructed. Saatva Guarantee

Ease of Movement

The Saatva has been proven to have better ease of movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, thanks to the interestingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed sticks against the physique of the user once they lie down on the ground and then recovers its original shape as soon as they leave the bed. For comparison, mattresses with an upper layer of memory foam will are shaped to fit the body as normal, however the feeling of being trapped in comfort is much more apparent and makes it difficult for the person remove themselves.

Noise

The innerspring beds have received a bad rep through the years for making annoying noises, which gradually get more pronounced with continued use. The Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully fall under this stereotype. We’ve already mentioned that the mattress’s inner structure contains an encasement of foam that’s wrapped around coil systems. It not only provides solid support around the edges, but also blocks out the sounds that coils normally create. When we tried out shifting positions and moving around on the bed, we noticed how there was less noise, squeak and buzz were produced. However, since the Saatva mattress has coils supporting it, it isn’t likely to have the noise-free capability to last forever.

Durability

After we’ve had the chance to test all of the test of the performance on the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we have to consider is the following questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be expected to last?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and structure, and how well it is able to perform when it comes to comfort, relief, and movement, the Saatva should be durable enough to last approximately 7-10 years.

Materials

The Saatva Classic is composed of at the very least four layers, each with distinct capabilities. When they are taken together, they make a strong, durable as well as bouncy and solid hybrid mattress that can be used for any purpose. Let’s take a close look at all the elements and components that compose the Saatva bed.

Layer 1 Layer 1: A soft and breathable Surface

The first layer is three inches of thick Euro pillow top that serves to serve as the bed’s sleep surface. It’s comprised of a combination of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to provide an incredibly comfortable and cushioned area to lie on. In both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models, a 1.25-inch thickness of soft polyfoam is utilized in the Soft option, while the Firm option makes use of 1.5″ worth of firm polyfoam.

It is then quilted with the specially-designed Lumbar Zone Quilting pattern to provide much-needed pressure relief for the back and hips. Organic cotton is used to cover the pillowtop surface. Not only is it breathable and soft, but it also has plenty of antibacterial qualities.

Layer 2: A Combination Foam for Lumbar Support with Enhanced

In all three levels of firmness the support foam is inch thick and is placed under the first layer to provide a better support for the lumbar region. This special foam is composed of the following: more than half of the foam is made of polyfoam, while the rest is composed of memory foam. It is placed strategically along the center of the mattress. This allows the back to be more aligned, without creating any kind of discomfort that might arise. Saatva Guarantee

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Support Layer

The Saatva’s third layer is a support layer in addition, it is it is one of two coil systems that make up the mattress. This 4 inches-thick layer of foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to bind to various body shapes and ever-changing movements. It also facilitates breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeper cool and away from becoming too hot.

Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core

The underlying structure of all three layers is a solid foundation made of steel hourglass coils that are underneath the three layers. Customers get to choose between two sizes that are 4 inches for mattresses that measure 11.5″ or a 7-inch layer for 14.5″ mattresses. These core coils aid the coils with pockets of foam to create an increased airflow system within the Saatva and the high-quality components should be solid enough to support heavier individuals as well as objects. Then, there is a foam perimeter encasement.
