How Firm Is the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question is based on your personal experience and the specific circumstances. If you’re looking to know about it firsthand, we’ve put each of the three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our firmness scale, ranging from 1 to 10.

We started our test by sleeping on our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at as 3/10. One thing we’ve noticed right off the beginning is how it felt so comfortable while lying on the side with the pillow at its at the top. We felt as if we were closer to getting the body hug by this model of Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other foundations. However, that more malleable feel may not translate well with people who often lie flat, either on their stomachs or their back. Saatva Leesa

Next up, we have the Firm version which is a striking difference to Plus Soft in terms of materials and rigidity. We could barely feel our bodies sink into the mattress – the model certainly lives up to its name! This is especially great for those who sleep flat on their backs or stomach since it provides more obvious support. Certain people might have problems with sleeping on their sides. However we rate this item an 8 out of 10.

In the case of this Luxury Firm version one of the initial few things we noticed was how soft the mattress felt on the pillow top. The coils that hold the mattress together are more firm, making this particular version of Saatva different in terms of construction. As we lay down flat on our backs, not only did we get the right amount of sinking as well as the support that we needed. The same could be said for sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on different personal experiences, it can be unpredictable. That being said we rate this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 out of 10 on the scale of firmness.

Testing using a variety of body weights

Apart from the firmness test, we’ve also experimented with how different body weights respond when sleeping on three different versions of Saatva Classic. We’ll start with our Plush Soft mattress. It is made of an unsteady coil foundation , and a softer pillow top It’s not surprising that it’s been popular with light weights. Average-weighing folks between 130 to 200 lbs may like the body-hugging and sinking feeling of Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Saatva Leesa

The firm mattress could be too stiff for people that weigh under 175lbs, but when you weigh a lot above that, this model is likely to be the best choice. With a stronger foundation across the mattress, the Firm model offers the most stable support when sleeping on the belly or the back specifically with heavyweights. People who weigh less may find lying on their bed somewhat uncomfortable, as there is no soft foam surface to ease this.

For this Luxury Firm mattress most of its attributes are sufficient to cater to a broad range of body weights. If you’re someone who weighs 130lbs and 250 pounds you’ll experience a sense relief and relaxation sleeping flat on the back with this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers may enjoy the same, however it could require more support for those who weigh more. When it comes to side sleeping, it’s generally good for most body weights, although it can be somewhat unpredictable.

Performance

What is the way that do the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to durability and even how it reacts during intimacy, we delved further into the depths to test the performance of the Saatva Classic. Here these are our findings!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva is not the best in terms of motion isolation when in comparison with other hybrid mattress. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is thinner by only half an inch, but the mattress still manages to absorb a significant degree of motion thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not be able to isolate the motion. The Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better in comparison.

If you’re in a romantic relationship, and you’re looking forward to a mattress where one of you moves , and the other doesn’t even notice it’s possible that it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the best. We tested it for motion transfer and we noticed that one of our team slowly became distracted when the other member began doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for having poor motion absorption and the Saatva is made up of innerspring parts. It could be an unsuitable mattress, especially when you’re a light sleeper who is easily disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to ease out the tension experienced by the body’s tension points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by placing a pressure map on its surface. Upon receiving the results, it has shown that the mattress, with three different levels of firmness, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. In terms of shoulder and hip points the relief can differ based on a range of factors like the firmness level the individual’s situation, as well as weight. Saatva Leesa

Temperature Control

The Saatva Classic mattress may be plenty of things, but we couldn’t deny that this is one of the top ones that has incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress has two layers of the spring coil, and one of them is wrapped in a pocket. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate through the mattress, ultimately cooling people who typically are hot to sleep on. It’s not just capable of cooling temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made of organic cotton, which makes the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds made with memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for people living in tropical conditions and for couples that, if they sleep together, heat the bed more quickly than just one person can.

Edge Support

Edge support is the measure of how strong edge support is the way that the mattresses’ edges stand up to. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges hold up very remarkably. In our tests, we found that they were noticeably solid enough to allow people to lie on their edges without worrying too much about sinkage, sagging, and falling off the mattress. This is due to the foam encasement which is secured around the coil layers inside the mattress. The durability can differ based on the firmness level and the firmness of Saatva. Couples for instance, will not feel too much sagging on those with the Firm or Luxury Firm choices, but might experience a bit of discomfort along the edges with Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Additionally, those who are heavier may feel more sinkage than light ones.

Sex

If you and your partner have a sexually active relationship it is crucial to find a mattress that can respond well when it comes to sharing intimate moments. Here’s the place where Saatva Classic comes in, with a strong combination of the ability to respond and friction, making it optimized for a wide range of sexual actions. The top of the pillow conforms to bodies when they are in proximity to its surface, while the innerspring foundation causes the bed to be bouncy enough to permit movement, but not too loud to produce the annoying sounds of squeaking. The strong edge support allows couples to take enjoyment of the entire surface of the Saatva. Although it’s Plush Soft comfort level may provide average traction for sex, it felt quite lacking in comparison to its more robust counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, what makes it stand out from other mattresses is the fact that it doesn’t take up much part of the mattress. This means it won’t smell as bad after the purchase and delivery. When we received the Saatva mattresses for testing we noticed that instead of the standard cardboard box delivery the delivery staff arrived to put the mattress for us. We also examined whether it emits less of the typical ‘new mattress smell’ than other similar ones that went away quickly. This could be due to the way it was built. Saatva Leesa

Easy of Movement

Saatva Saatva has been found to have a greater ease of movement when compared to other hybrid mattresses, thanks to the unique combination of innerspring and polyfoam employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed is fixed to the body of the person once they lie down on the floor however it returns to its original form quickly after they have left it. To contrast, mattresses that have the top of memory foam are shaped to fit the body as typical, but the sensation of being ‘trapped in comfort is much more apparent and makes it difficult for the person remove themselves.

Noise

The innerspring beds have received a bad rep through the years for their irritating sounds that get more pronounced with continued use. The Saatva Classic, on the contrary, doesn’t meet the criteria of this. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s core is the encasement of foam wrapped around the coil systems. Not only does it provide solid support around the edges, but also blocks out the sounds that coils normally produce. When we tried out changing positions and moving around on the bed, we were amazed by how less noise and squeaking generated. However, as it is the Saatva mattress is supported by coils, it isn’t likely to have the noise-free features to last long.

Durability

Now that we managed to test all of the performance tests with Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to consider is the following questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be expected for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure, and how well it performs in regards to comfort, relief and movement and comfort, the Saatva will be durable enough to last around 7 to 10 years.

Materials
