How firm Is the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. Answering this query will depend on the individual’s experience and personal conditions. But if you want to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each one of three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our firmness scale, that ranges from 1-10.

We started our test using the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve rated three out of ten. The one thing that we’ve observed right from the bat is how it felt so comfortable while sleeping sideways facing the pillow at the top. It was as if we were more likely to be body-hugged by this version of the Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other foundations. However, this more flexible feeling might not work for people who tend to sleep flat – either on their stomachs or on their back. Saatva Matress Sucks

Then, we’ll have the Firm version which is a striking opposite to Plus Soft in terms of materials and rigidity. We could barely feel our bodies sink into the mattress. This model certainly is up to the hype! It is particularly beneficial for people who sleep on their backs or stomach since it provides more apparent support. Some people may have issues with sleeping on the side. Yet, despite this, we give this rating an excellent 8 out of 10.

When it came to the Premium Firm version one of the initial few things we noticed was how soft it felt on the pillow top. The coils, meanwhile, which keep the mattress in place are firmer, making this variant of the Saatva different in terms of construction. In this case, as we lay down flat on our backs, not only did we have the proper amount of sinking, but also the support that we required. Similar results could be achieved when sleeping on your stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on your individual experiences of the person, this could be hit-or-miss. On that note we rate our Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

Testing with varying body weights

Apart from the test of firmness, we’ve also experimented with how different body weights react sleeping on three different versions of Saatva Classic. We’ll start with our Plush Soft mattress. Made from the less durable coil foundation , and a softer pillow top is no wonder that it’s been popular with light weights. Average-weighing folks between 130 to 200 pounds might appreciate the body hugging and sinking feel that comes with Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights might have an issue. Saatva Matress Sucks

The firm mattress might be too stiff for those with a weight of less than 175lbs, but in the case of those way over that, this version is probably the more suitable option. With a more solid foundation all over the firm mattress, it provides much more reliable support when it comes to sleeping on your stomach or back, especially with heavyweights. People who weigh less may find lying on the bed a bit uncomfortable, with not enough soft foam surface to ease this.

With this Luxury Firm mattress, most of its attributes are sufficient to accommodate a variety in bodyweights. If you’re someone who weighs 130 lbs or 250 pounds, you’ll find a sense of relief and relaxation sleeping flat on the back with this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from the same, however it might require additional support for those who weigh more. For side sleepers, it’s generally good for most body weights, although it can be a bit of a hit-or-miss.

Performance

How does the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even to how it behaves during private moments. We delved further into the depths to test the performance of the Saatva Classic. These are the results!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva did not stand out in its motion isolation, in comparison with other hybrid mattress. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is thinner by only half an inch, however the mattress still manages to absorb a substantial amount of movement thanks to its state-of-the-art fiber fill. The two firmer options may not be able to isolate the motion. Its Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better in comparison.

If you’re in a romantic relationship and looking at a mattress in which one of you is moving and the other doesn’t even notice it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the most suitable. We tested it to see if it could transfer motion and we noticed that one of our group members gradually became distracted when the other person started making movements – from minor to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for having poor motion absorption and the Saatva happens to be composed of innerspring elements. It’s also an unsuitable mattress particularly for those who sleep lightly who is frequently disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to ease out the tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We determined the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by drawing a pressure map on the surface. When we have the results, it’s revealed that the mattress, with three different levels of firmness, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. In terms of shoulder and hip points it can be different based on several factors like the firmness level the individual’s situation, as well as the weight. Saatva Matress Sucks

Temperature Control

Its Saatva Classic mattress may be plenty of things, but we couldn’t say that it’s one of the best with stunning cooling abilities. It has two layers of spring coil, one of which is pockets. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate throughout the mattress, eventually cooling down individuals who usually rest hot. Not only is it in a position to reduce temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made from organic cotton, which makes it Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. It is a great cooling mattress for anyone living in tropical conditions and for couples who, if they are sleeping together, will have a greater chance of heating the bed than a single person.

Edge Support

Edge support refers to the strength of the edges of the mattress can support. In the case of Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges remain in great shape. In our tests, we found that they’re robust enough to permit people to lie on their edges without having to worry too much about sinkage, sagging and falling off of the mattress. This is because of a foam encasement that’s placed around the coils in the mattress. The sturdiness may vary depending on the firmness levels that are present in the Saatva. Couples like this will not feel too much sliding on the Firm and Luxury Firm choices, but might experience a bit of discomfort along the edges with those who choose the Plush Soft. Also those who weigh more will experience more sinkage than light ones.

Sex

In the event that you or your companion are sexually active It is essential to choose an appropriate mattress that will respond well when it comes to being intimate with your partner. That’s where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of both responsiveness and friction making fully optimized for a wide range of sexual actions. The top of the pillow conforms to the body when in proximity to its surface and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be buoyant enough to allow for movement, but not too loud for the annoying squeaking sound. The strong edge support allows couples to take benefit of the entire area of Saatva. Although it’s Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of traction for sex however, it was a bit sluggish in comparison to its more robust counterparts.

Off-gassing

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But what makes it stand out from other mattresses is the fact that it doesn’t take up a lot part of the mattress. This means it won’t smell as bad upon the purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses to test We noticed that, instead of the typical boxes of cardboard the delivery staff came in to set the mattress for us. We also checked how it emitted less of the usual “fresh mattress smell” as compared to other mattresses and it went away quickly. This could be due to how the mattress was made. Saatva Matress Sucks

Mobility

Saatva Saatva has been proven to have better ease of movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, thanks to the unique polyfoam/innerspring combination used as its structural foundation. The bed sticks to the body of the person as they lay on the ground, but regains its original shape quickly when they get off of it. To contrast, mattresses that have a memory foam top adhere to the body in the same way as normal, however the feeling of being ‘trapped in comfort is much more apparent which makes it difficult for the user to remove themselves.

Noise

Innerspring beds have made some bad rap over the years for their irritating noises, which gradually get worse with each use. Its Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully meet the criteria of this. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s core is a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around the coil systems. This not only offers solid support along the edges, it also reduces the sound that coils typically produce. When we tried out changing positions and moving around the bed, we were amazed by how much less noise as well as squeaking were produced. However, since the Saatva mattress is supported by coils you can’t count on the quiet features to last long.

Durability

After we’ve had the chance to conduct all test of the performance with the Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to consider is these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be expected be expected to endure?” Considering the high-grade quality of the material and structure, and how well it performs when it comes to comfort, relief, and movement and comfort, the Saatva should be durable enough to last up to around 7 to 10 years.

Materials

The Saatva Classic is composed of at least four layers, each with distinct capabilities. However, when they’re taken together, they make a strong, durable, bouncy, and overall sturdy hybrid mattress that can be used for any use. Let’s look at all the components and layers that compose the Saatva mattress.

Layer 1 The Soft and Breathable Surface

The first layer consists of an inch-thick Euro pillow top, which is used as the mattress’s sleeping surface. It’s comprised of a combination of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to create a cushioned and comfortable area for you to lay down on. In both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models there is a 1.25-inch thickness of soft polyfoam has been used in the Soft option, in contrast, the Firm option uses 1.5″ worth polyfoam with a firm texture.

The top is quilted using an exclusive Lumbar Zone Quilting design to provide the needed relief from pressure on the hips and back. Organic cotton material is used to protect the pillow’s surface. Not only is it soft and breathable, it also has a lot of antibacterial qualities.

Layer 2: A Combination of Foam for Enhanced Lumbar Support

In all three levels of firmness, an inch-thick support foam is placed beneath the first layer to provide a superior support for the lumbar region. This special foam is composed of the following majority of the foam is made of polyfoam. The rest is composed from memory foam. It is strategically placed in the middle of the mattress, allowing that the spine to more align, without producing any form of discomfort. Saatva Matress Sucks

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Layer of Support

The third layer of the Saatva is a support layer, and additionally, it is one of two coil systems that compose the mattress. This 4-inch-thick surface of individually foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to bind to various body shapes and movements that change constantly. It also facilitates breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeper cooled and away from becoming too hot.

Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core

Holding all three layers is a solid foundation made of steel hourglass coils that are underneath the three layers. Customers get to choose between two heights: a 4-inch layer for mattresses that measure 11.5″ or 7-inch layers for 14.5″ mattresses. The core coils assist the coils with pockets of foam to create an improved airflow system through the Saatva, plus the industry-grade components must be strong enough to handle heavier persons and objects.
