How Firm is the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question is based on personal experience and circumstances. But if you want to learn more about it from the inside, we’ve put each 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our firmness scale, ranging from 1 to 10.

We started the experiment off with our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at as 3/10. The one thing that we’ve observed right from the start is that it feels so comfy sleeping on its side, with the pillow on top. We felt like we were more likely to be in the body that’s the Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other ones. But, the more flexible feel might not be a good fit with people who often lie flat, either on their stomachs or on their back. Saatva Minus Queen

Next , we’ve got the Firm version that is a stark opposite to Plus Soft in terms of the materials used and the rigidity. We barely felt our bodies sink into the mattress. The model certainly is up to the hype! It is particularly beneficial for sleepers who lie flat on their backs or stomach since it provides more visible support. Some people may have issues when it comes to sleeping on their sides. But despite this we rate this product an 8/10.

When we looked at the Luxury Firm version One of the first few things we observed was how soft it felt on the top of the pillow. The coils that hold the mattress together are firmer, making this version of Saatva mixed in terms of construction. As we lay on our backs We not only receive the correct amount of sinking and support, but also the sinking that we required. The same could be said for sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Depending on the different personal experiences, it could be a bit of a hit or miss. In that regard we rate this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 /10 on the scale of firmness.

Testing using a variety of body weights

Apart from the test of firmness We’ve also analyzed the way different body weights react when sleeping on three different versions that comprise the Saatva Classic. We’ll start with the Plush Soft mattress. Made out of the less durable coil foundation and an even soft pillow top It’s not surprising that it’s a favorite among light-weights. People who weigh 130 to 200 pounds might appreciate the body-hugging and sinking feeling from this Plush Soft, but heavyweights might find them to be an issue. Saatva Minus Queen

The firm mattress could be too stiff for people who weigh less than 175 pounds, but when you weigh a lot more than that, this mattress is most likely the better option. With a more solid foundation all over, the Firm variant offers much more reliable support when it comes to sleeping on the side or on the back particularly for those who weigh a lot. Those who weigh much less could find lying on the bed a bit uncomfortable, with no soft foam surface to remedy this.

In the case of the Luxury Firm mattress most of its attributes are sufficient to cater to a broad range of weight a person can carry. If you’re either someone who weighs 130 lbs and 250 pounds you will feel a sense of peace and ease while sleeping on the back on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from too, but it may require extra support for heavier folks. In terms of side sleeping it’s generally suitable for all body weights, but it’s a bit of a hit-or-miss.

Performance

How does this Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even how it reacts during intimate moments, we dove further into the depths to test its capabilities. Here these are our findings!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva was lackluster in terms of motion isolation when compared to other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is thinner by only one-half inch, yet the mattress still manages to absorb a significant degree of motion thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. Two of the more firm options might not do well in isolating motions. Its Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better when compared to.

If you’re in a romantic relationship and you’re looking at a mattress in which one of you moves and the other doesn’t even notice, the Saatva Classic may not be the ideal. When we tested it out for motion transfers and we noticed that one of our team slowly lost focus as the other member started doing movements, ranging from minimal to medium and finally high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses are known for their poor absorption of motion, and the Saatva is composed of innerspring elements. It could be a poor choice for a mattress particularly for those who sleep lightly who is easily disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to relieve tension experienced by the body’s tension points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by drawing the map of pressure on its surface. Upon receiving the results, it’s revealed that the mattress, with three different levels of firmness, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. In terms of hip and shoulder points it can be different based on a variety of variables including the level of firmness as well as personal circumstances and the weight. Saatva Minus Queen

Temperature Control

Its Saatva Classic mattress may be many things, but we can’t say that it’s one of the top ones with stunning cooling abilities. The mattress is made up of two layers of spring coil, one of which is pocketed. This structural frame allows enough air to flow throughout the mattress, eventually cooling people who typically sleep hot. It’s not just in a position to reduce temperatures however, the pillow’s cover is made of organic cotton, making the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for people living in tropical conditions and for couples who, when they share a bed, can are able to heat the bed faster than a single person.

Edge Support

Edge support is a measure of how well those edges support. In the case of Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. Upon testing, we ruled that they’re robust enough to permit people to sleep near the edges without worrying about sinkage, sagging and falling off of the mattress. This is caused by the foam encasement which is secured around the coil layers in the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the firmness level and the firmness of Saatva. Couples for instance, might not experience any sliding when they choose between those with the Firm or Luxe Firm alternatives, however they may be able to feel a little discomfort around the edges when using those who choose the Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more might feel more sinkage than the light ones.

Sex

When you are with your spouse and are both sexually active It is essential to choose a mattress that can respond well when it comes to being intimate with your partner. This is where the Saatva Classic comes in, with a strong combination of both the ability to respond and friction, making it optimized for a wide range of sexual activities. The pillow top is shaped to the bodies in close proximity to its surface and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be buoyant enough to permit movement, but not too loud to create the irritating noise of squeaking. The firm edge support allows couples to take full benefit of the entire area of Saatva. While it’s Plush Soft comfort level may provide a little traction for sex however, it was a bit sluggish when compared to its more rigid counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam, but what sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much in the bed. It doesn’t smell as bad after delivery and purchase. We received our Saatva mattresses to test we noticed that instead of the typical boxes of cardboard people from the delivery company arrived to set up the bed for us. We also checked whether it emits less of the typical “new mattress” smell than other similar ones that went away quickly. This could be due to how it was built. Saatva Minus Queen

Mobility

The Saatva has been found to be more comfortable in movement compared to other hybrid mattresses due to the unique polyfoam/innerspring combination used as its structural foundation. The bed is fixed with the shape of the person once they lie down on the ground and then recovers its original shape as soon as they leave the bed. To compare, mattresses with the top of memory foam conform to the body per normal, however the feeling of being trapped in comfort is much more apparent, making it a bit difficult for the user to remove themselves.

Noise

Innerspring beds have made an unpopular image over the years for making annoying noises, which gradually get worse with each use. Saatva Classic, however Saatva Classic, on the contrary, doesn’t meet the criteria of this. We’ve already mentioned that the mattress’s structure is the encasement of foam wrapped around coil systems. Not only does it provide solid support at the edges, it also reduces the sound that coils normally create. When we tried out shifting positions and moving around the bed, we noticed how there was less noise, squeak and buzz were produced. However, since the Saatva mattress has coils supporting it you shouldn’t expect the no-noise features to last long.

Durability

We’ve managed to conduct all performance tests for Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we need to think about is the following questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be able to last?” Considering the high-grade quality of the material and structure and how well it performs when it comes to relief, comfort, and movement as well, the Saatva will be durable enough to last approximately 7-10 years.

Materials

The Saatva Classic is composed of at minimum four layers, each having unique abilities. But when taken together, they make an extremely durable, strong and bouncy sturdy hybrid mattress which can be used to serve any purpose. Let’s have a closer review of the various components and layers that compose the Saatva mattress.

It’s made up of a mix of fiberfill, polyfoam and Dacron to create a soft and comfortable surface for you to lay down on. This top quilt is made with a specially-made Lumbar Zone Quilting design to provide much-needed pressure relief for the back and hips. Organic cotton fabric is used to protect the pillow’s surface. It is not only comfortable and breathable, but it also comes with antibacterial properties.

Layer 2: A Combination of Foam to Provide Enhanced Lumbar Support

Across all three firmness levels the support foam is inch thick and is placed under the first layer to create a much better lumbar support system. The foam is made up of: more than half of the mattress is composed of polyfoam, while the remaining part is made of memory foam. It is strategically placed in the middle of the mattress. This allows the back to be more aligned without producing any form of discomfort. Saatva Minus Queen

It also allows for breezy air circulation, keeping the sleeper cool and away from becoming too hot.

4. The Sturdy Foundation Core

Each layer is held by the solid hourglass steel coils beneath the three layers. Customers have the option of choosing between two heights that are 4 inches for mattresses measuring 11.5″ or a 7-inch layer for 14.5″ mattresses.
