For those of you who prefer a more visual experience, here is a video review from GetGreenBeWell’s YouTube channel. Do check out our article below, however, because it has a comprehensive overview of the Saatva Mattress.

Overview: The Saatva Mattress

A namesake of the high-end bed specialist, the Saatva Classic mattress is one of America’s best-selling products in the luxury mattress field, and a top pick overall. One of the main reasons it’s been highly acclaimed is its exceptional relief in the lumbar region of the body, including the back and neck. Packed within the foundations of the mattress is a hybrid poly/memory foam strategically placed at the center designed to provide much-needed support, especially for those who sleep on the back. The Saatva Classic is also a popular choice for stomach sleepers, as it provides comfort and support.

The Saatva has excellent cooling capabilities thanks to how the coils are designed. Two innerspring layers – one a foundation layer and the other for extra support – are strategically placed to allow for air circulation throughout the mattress, ultimately keeping the body cool while they are asleep. The spring coils respond to changing movements and are a great choice for couples who frequently change their sleeping positions or for couples looking for intimate moments. There are multiple sizes and firmness options for the Saatva Classic, including Firm, Plush Soft, Firm, as well as Luxury Firm.

Who should get the Saatva Classic Mattress

  • People who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs.
  • Combination sleepers, who frequently change their positions
  • Those who sleep in hot temperatures – the mattress has enough airflow to cool them
  • Couples looking for a mattress that isn’t too firm at the edges
  • People looking for a bed that is comfortable during sex will be happy with a bed that performs well.
  • People who want a firmer, more durable mattress.

Now that we’ve covered an overview of all we need to know so far about the Saatva Classic, let’s take a look at the other four mattress companies and their best-selling offerings. Each one will be compared, highlighting similarities and key differences. The four companies we will be focusing on in this article are Sleep Number with their 360 p5 Mattress, Tempur-Pedic’s popular TEMPUR-Cloud, DreamCloud’s namesake Classic Mattress, and Purple with their highly innovative flagship mattress. Let’s get started with Sleep Number without any other obstacles!

Saatva vs. Sleep Number

Sleep Number is well-known for their wide selection of adjustable air mattresses with high-end features. It lets sleepers change the firmness and support levels according to their preferences with just a touch of their remote. The Sleep Number company has been in the bed industry for over 30 years. While other specialty mattress companies have been around for much shorter, Sleep Number already knows a thing or two about how to provide a comfortable yet flexible experience to the sleeper. Sleep Number’s popular product is the 360 p5 mattress from the Performance series.

Saatva Vs Allswell

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Similarities

The Sleep Number 360 p5 Mattress works exceptionally well for flat sleepers, just like the Saatva. It is partly due to the construction of the mattress. Multiple foam layers are stacked on top, providing much-needed pressure relief. This helps to ease a variety of pains in the lumbar region and back.

The 360 p5 doesn’t come in a big box. Similar to the Saatva, white-glove technicians carry the mattress to your home, so there are no issues with off-gassing.

Differences

The 360 p5 is constructed differently – we’re talking about an adjustable airbed here – which explains why it’s understandably much pricier than the Saatva. It also contains memory foam, which usually traps heat in the mattress plus makes up for slower responsiveness under constant movement. Despite its cons, the 360 p5 has better motion absorption than Saatva. This is great for couples or individuals who don’t want to be disturbed.

Who should get the Sleep Number 360 p5 mattress?

  • Back and stomach sleepers
  • Those who may have varying back pain issues
  • People looking for a mattress that can be adjusted in firmness and/or relief levels.
  • People who don’t like being disturbed while they sleep

Saatva vs. Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic has been recognized over the years for its memory foam mattresses made to provide better comfortability and relief. Although the company has only recently added innerspring hybrids to their product line, it is clear that they are experts in this field. TempurPedic mattresses are a common choice when you visit a mattress shop to find the best memory foam mattress. While there are many models to choose from, in this article we’ll take a look at the TEMPUR-Cloud, their most well-received product.

Similarities

Both the TEMPUR-Cloud and Saatva Classic are highly-acclaimed mattresses from well-respected mattress companies with flowery reviews about their overall reliability. They’re both also made of high-quality materials to ensure the sleepers get the best comfort and peaceful sleep. The TEMPUR Cloud is a great option for people who sleep on their backs. It provides enough pressure relief and support that the spine remains intact.

Differences

Although the TEMPUR Cloud mattress provides luxury-grade back relief in the same manner as the Saatva’s, it is more expensive. Since it’s an all-foam mattress made up of mostly high-performing material, expect it to have a higher price range starting from $1899, compared to the Saatva’s $912.

Being a memory foam mattress, the TEMPUR-Cloud should have a softer firmness level. Side sleepers will love the excellent body contouring that it offers. While it may sound positive, take note that this mattress will most likely be prone to sinkage, which may cause restrictions in movement, especially among heavy-weighted sleepers.

Who should get the Tempurpedic TEMPUR Cloud Mattress?

  • People who like to sleep on memory foam
  • Side sleepers and back sleepers who enjoy soft pressure relief and contouring
  • Individuals and couples searching for a mattress that isn’t easily disturbed by sudden movements.
  • Light- to average-weighted sleepers

Saatva vs. DreamCloud

DreamCloud, like Saatva is a direct to consumer company that sells luxury mattresses. It seems that DreamCloud would be an ideal fit for million-dollar homes and hotels. In the same light, its products are innerspring variants made up of materials that exceed industry standards. The DreamCloud Classic, which is similar to the Saatva Classic, is one of the most popular products. While we can appreciate that we’ve found our closest competitor yet, there are quite plenty of differences that make the DreamCloud Classic stand out from the Saatva mattress!

white-bed

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Similarities

The innerspring coils in the DreamCloud as well as Saatva provide reliable, strong support. Each mattress has a layer of pocketed coils that is placed on top of the foundation layer. This provides the body with both the support it requires and cooling capabilities to prevent it from becoming too hot. Both mattresses are firm enough to prevent any sagging from the center to the edges, yet comfortable for anyone to sleep in. They are very durable and should last many years.

Differences

DreamCloud’s key difference is that it’s a hybrid since the top memory foam layers are prominent. It has only one standard firmness option – if we rank the firmness rating from 1 to 10, it would be a solid 7. It might be sufficient for light-weight to medium-to-heavyweight sleepers, but it may not be as supportive for them.

One thing worth mentioning is that there is a Premier upgrade, which has a much-improved comfort level thanks to the additional memory foam content. It is also significantly cheaper than Saatva’s retail price.

Who Should Get the DreamCloud Classic Mattress?

  • For those with tight budgets who are looking for a fantastic mattress
  • Stomach sleepers or side sleepers, preferably of average-level weight
  • People who like to sleep on a firmer surface
  • The Premier upgrade is worth it for back sleepers

Saatva vs. Purple

While other bed companies offer mattresses with a combination of features that are all too familiar to nearly every one of us, there’s one that makes it clear they are outstandingly unique from the rest. Purple is a mattress company that develops innovative technology to improve people’s sleeping quality. They’re best recognized for the state-of-the-art purple grid on their mattresses. Without much ado, let’s take a close look at the Purple Mattress, the company’s most famous product yet!

Similarities

Despite the glaring differences in how they’re constructed, both the Purple Mattress and the Saatva Classic perform remarkably when it comes to cooling. Purple’s signature GelFlex Grid is specially designed to allow breathability within the mattress, keeping the person cooled in the same way as Saatva’s innerspring coil system.

They are bouncy enough to allow sleepers to move easily without any hesitation, and in many different ways. The best thing about them all is the way that high-quality materials create a mattress that’s both comfortable and supportive.

Differences

The Purple and Saatva may both work in mysterious ways, but if you were to try each of them for yourself, you may notice a key difference in terms of how it feels. The grid technology makes Purple feel more gel-like than Saatva’s firm, but still fluid feeling. The former also isolates motion better. The Purple Mattress comes compressed in a box upon delivery, which may result in a quite unpleasant off-gassing compared to how the Saatva’s delivered.

Who should get the Purple Mattress?

  • Sleepers under 230 lbs. – they should apply enough pressure to activate the GelFlex grid’s contouring abilities
  • For combination sleepers who want a more flexible mattress, such as the Saatva’s,
  • Hot sleepers who prefer all-foam mattresses
  • Individuals sleeping with a restless partner at night

Firmness and Feel

When it comes to searching for the right mattress, firmness and feel are among the most important aspects. How do you feel the Saatva Classic on your body? Does it have enough strength to support you if you lie in various positions? Or is it too stiff for your liking? We tried it out for ourselves to test the possibilities!

Saatva Vs Allswell

How Firm is Saatva Classic? Saatva Classic?

The Saatva Classic has three varying firmnesses: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question depends on the individual’s experience and personal specific circumstances. But if you want to know about it firsthand we’ve put each of the three Saatva Classic versions to the test to determine how they perform on our firmness scale, which ranges from 1 to 10.

We started our test using our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve rated as 3/10. One thing we’ve noticed right from the beginning is how it feels so comfy lying on the side with the pillow at its top. It was as if we were more likely to be body-hugged by this version that’s Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its softer foundation compared with other ones. But, the more flexible feel might not be a good fit for people who tend to sleep flat – either on their stomachs or their back. Saatva Vs Allswell

Next , we’ve got the Firm variant which is a striking opposite to Plus Soft in terms of materials and rigidity. It was hard to feel our bodies sinking into the mattress. This variant certainly is up to the hype! This is particularly great for sleepers who lie flat on their stomachs or backs because it provides more apparent support. Some people may have issues when it comes to sleeping on their sides. Yet, despite this, we give this rating a solid 8 out of 10.

When it came to the Premium Firm version, one of the first few things we observed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils that hold the mattress together are more firm, which makes this particular version of Saatva mixed in terms of construction. When we lay flat on our backs and slept, we not only get the right amount of sinking, but also the support that we needed. The same could be said for sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Depending on the different personal experiences, it can be a bit of a hit or miss. That being said we rate the Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 /10 on the scale of firmness.

Testing with Varying Body Weights

Apart from the test of firmness, we’ve also experimented with how different body weights respond when sleeping on three variations of the Saatva Classic. We’ll start with The Plush Soft mattress. It is made of the less durable coil foundation and an even more soft top layer It’s not surprising that it’s been favored among lightweights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 lbs may like the body-hugging and sinking feeling that comes with Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights might find them to be an issue. Saatva Vs Allswell

The Firm mattress may be too rigid for those who weigh less than 175 pounds, but for those who weigh way more than that, this mattress is most likely the better option. With a sturdier foundation throughout, the Firm variant offers the most stable support when sleeping on your belly or the back especially for those who weigh a lot. Those who weigh much less might find sleeping on the bed somewhat uncomfortable, as there is the mattress not having enough soft foam to ease this.

bed-mattress

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

In the case of this Luxury Firm mattress, most of its features are enough to accommodate a variety of body weights. If you’re someone who weighs 130lbs and 250 pounds you’ll experience a sense relief and relaxation sleeping flat on your back when you sleep on this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers might like this as well, although it might require additional support for those who weigh more. For side sleepers it’s usually suitable for most body weights although it can be a bit of a hit-or-miss.

Performance

How does the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even how it performs in intimacy, we dug deeper to determine the performance of the Saatva Classic. Here are the results!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva was lackluster in motion isolation as compared to other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is less than half an inch, but it is able to absorb an impressive amount of motion due to its state-of-the-art fiber fill. Two of the more firm options might not be able to isolate motions. The Plush Soft variant, however performs a bit better in comparison.

If you’re in a romantic relationship, and you’re looking at a mattress in which one of you is moving and the other would not be able to tell it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the ideal. When we tested it out for motion transfers We noticed how one of our group members gradually became distracted when the other person started doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate and eventually high-intensity. Mattresses made of innersprings have been known for their poor absorption of motion, and the Saatva is made up of innerspring components. It could be an unsuitable mattress particularly if you’re a light sleeper who’s frequently disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to reduce the pressure experienced by the body’s tension points. We determined the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by placing a pressure map on its surface. When we have the results, it has shown that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. For hip and shoulder points the relief can differ based on a range of factors including the level of firmness the individual’s situation, as well as weight. Saatva Vs Allswell

Temperature Control

The Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we’re able to be more certain that this is one of the top ones that has incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress has two layers of the spring coil, and one of them is pockets. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate through the mattress, eventually cooling down individuals who usually rest hot. It’s not just in a position to reduce temperatures however, the pillow’s cover is made from organic cotton, making the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for anyone living in a tropical climate, or for couples who, when they are sleeping together, will are able to heat the bed faster than just one person can.

Edge Support

Edge support is a measure of the strength of the edges of the mattress can hold up. For Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges hold up very remarkably. After testing, we concluded that they were remarkably sturdy enough to allow individuals to rest near the edges without worrying about sinkage, sagging or falling off the mattress. This is caused by an encasement of foam that is placed around the coils within the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the level of firmness and the firmness of Saatva. Couples, for example, may not feel too much sagging when they choose between those with the Firm or Luxury Firm options but may experience a bit of discomfort at the edges of those who choose the Plush Soft. In addition those who weigh more will experience more sinkage than lighter ones.

Sex

When you are with your spouse and have a sexually active relationship, it’s crucial to find the right mattress that responds effectively when being intimate with your partner. This is where the Saatva Classic comes in, offering a great combination of both the ability to respond and friction, making it suitable for a range of sexual actions. The top of the pillow conforms to the body when in contact with the surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movement however not so loud as to create the irritating sounds of squeaking. The firm edge support allows couples to take full advantage of the whole area of Saatva. While the Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of sexual traction, it felt quite lacking compared to its more firm counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, what makes it stand out from the rest is that it doesn’t take up a lot in the bed. It doesn’t smell as bad after the purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses to test we noticed that instead of the typical cardboard box, delivery personnel came in to set the mattress for us. We also inspected the way it released less of the typical ‘new mattress smell’ in comparison to similar mattresses and it went away quickly – this may be due to the way it was built. Saatva Vs Allswell

Easy of Movement

The Saatva has been proven to have a greater ease of movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, due to the intriguingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination used as its structural foundation. The bed sticks against the physique of the user once they lie down on the surface, but returns to its original form quickly after they have left the bed. To contrast, mattresses that have a memory foam top are shaped to fit the body as typical, but the sensation of being ‘trapped in comfort’ is more prominent and makes it difficult for the person get out.

white-bed

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Noise

The innerspring beds have received some bad rap over the years for their irritating sounds that get worse with each use. The Saatva Classic, on the contrary, doesn’t fall under this stereotype. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s core is an encasement of foam that’s wrapped around coil systems. Not only does it provide solid support at the edges, but also muffles out the noise coils usually produce. When we tried out changing positions and moving around the mattress, we noticed that much less noise as well as squeaking generated. However, since it is the Saatva mattress is supported by coils, you shouldn’t expect the no-noise capabilities to last for long.

Durability

After we’ve had the chance to conduct all performance tests with Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we have to consider is some of the questions below: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be able for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure, and how well it is able to perform when it comes to relief, comfort, and motion as well, the Saatva is expected to be sturdy enough to last approximately 7-10 years.

Materials

The Saatva Classic is composed of at the very least four layers, each having unique abilities. When they are taken together, they make an extremely durable, strong, bouncy, and overall solid hybrid mattress which can be used for any use. Let’s have a closer look at the different layers and materials that make up the Saatva mattress.

Layer 1 The Soft and Breathable Surface

The first layer consists of a 3-inch-thick Euro pillow top used for the mattress’s bed surface. It’s comprised of a combination of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to provide an incredibly comfortable and cushioned area to lay on. In both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm versions it’s the product is made up of a 1.25-inch layer of soft polyfoam is utilized for the soft option, and the Firm option makes use of 1.5″ worth of firm polyfoam.

This top quilt is made with the specially-designed Lumbar Zone Quilting design to provide the needed pressure relief on the back and hips. Organic cotton fabric is used to protect the pillow’s surface. It is not only breathable and soft, but it also has a lot of antibacterial properties.

Layer 2: A Combination Foam for Lumbar Support with Enhanced

Across all three firmness levels An inch-thick support foam is placed beneath the first layer to provide a superior support system for the lumbar spine. This particular foam is made of these components majority of the foam is made of polyfoam. The remaining part is made of memory foam. It is strategically placed along the center of the mattress, allowing that the spine to more align, without creating any kind of discomfort. Saatva Vs Allswell

It also allows for breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeping person cool and preventing them from becoming too hot.

4. The Sturdy Foundation Core

The underlying structure of all three layers is the solid steel hourglass coils that are underneath them. Customers have the option of choosing between two sizes of a 4-inch layer to fit mattresses measuring 11.5″ or a 7-inch layer for 14.5″ mattresses. The core coils assist the foam-pocketed coils in producing an increased airflow system within the Saatva and the high-quality components must be strong enough to support heavier individuals and other objects.
