How Firm Is the Saatva Classic?

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. Answering this query depends on personal experience and circumstances. However, if you’d like to know about it firsthand, we’ve put each 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to determine how they perform on our scale of firmness that ranges from 1-10.

We started the experiment off using the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at 3 out of 10. One thing we’ve noticed straight off the bat is how it felt so comfortable while lying on the side with the pillow at its top. We felt like we were closer to getting in the body that’s the Saatva Classic thanks to its more supple foundation than other foundations. However, this more flexible feeling might not work for people who tend to rest flat, whether on their stomachs or on their back. Why Saatva

Then, we’ll have the Firm version, which is a stark difference to Plus Soft in terms of material and stiffness. We could barely feel our bodies sink into the mattress. This version surely lives up to its name! It is particularly beneficial for those who sleep flat on their backs or stomach, as it offers much more visible support. Certain people might have problems with sleeping on their sides. However, we give this rating an excellent 8/10.

When it came to this Luxury Firm version One of the first things we noticed was how soft it felt on the pillow top. The coils that hold the mattress together are more firm, which makes this version of Saatva mixed in terms of design. In this case, as we lay on our backs and slept, we not only get the right amount of sinking, but also the support that we needed. Similar results could be achieved when sleeping on your stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on different experience of each person’s, the situation could be unpredictable. That being said, we give the Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 /10 on the scale of firmness.

Testing with Varying Body Weights

Apart from the test of firmness We’ve also analyzed the way different body weights react when sleeping on three variations of the Saatva Classic. We’ll start with our Plush Soft mattress. It is made of a less sturdy coil foundation , and a softer pillow top is no wonder that it’s been favored among lightweights. People who weigh 130 to 200 lbs may like the body hugging and sinking sensation of this Plush Soft, but heavyweights might find them to be an issue. Why Saatva

The Firm mattress may be too stiff for those that weigh under 175 pounds, however when you weigh a lot above that, this model is likely to be the best option. With a stronger foundation across the firm mattress, it provides the most stable support when sleeping on the side or on the back specifically for those who weigh a lot. Those who weigh much less may find lying on the bed uncomfortable due to the mattress not having enough soft foam to ease this.

With the Luxury Firm mattress most of its features are enough to cover a wide range of weight a person can carry. If you’re either someone who weighs 130 lbs or 250 pounds, you will experience a sense relief and relaxation sleeping flat on the back on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from too, but it might require additional support for those who weigh more. For side sleepers, it’s generally good for all body weights, but it’s somewhat unpredictable.

Performance

How does this Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even to how it performs in private moments. We dove further deep to test its capabilities. Here these are our findings!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva did not stand out in motion isolation as compared against other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is less than half an inch, but it is able to absorb a substantial amount of movement thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not do well in isolating the motion. The Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better in comparison.

If you’re in a relationship and looking forward to a mattress where one of you moves , and the other would not be able to tell then the Saatva Classic may not be the best. When we tested it out for motion transfer and we noticed that one of our team slowly got distracted as soon as the other person started making movements – from minor to moderate , and then high-intensity. Mattresses made of innersprings have been known for their poor absorption of motion and the Saatva is composed of innerspring components. It could be a bad mattress choice, especially for those who sleep lightly who is easily disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to ease out the tension experienced by the body’s tension points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by drawing the map of pressure on its surface. Upon receiving the results, it has revealed that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, provides stellar pressure relief at the back. As for the shoulder and hip points it can be different based on a variety of variables including the level of firmness as well as personal circumstances and weight. Why Saatva

Temperature Control

The Saatva Classic mattress may be plenty of things, but we couldn’t deny that this is one of the top ones with stunning cooling abilities. The mattress has two layers of spring coil, and one of them is pockets. This structural frame allows enough air to flow throughout the mattress, eventually cooling down individuals who usually are hot to sleep on. Not only is it capable of cooling temperatures however, the pillow’s cover is made of organic cotton, which makes the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for people living in tropical conditions and for couples who, when they sleep together, are able to heat the bed faster than just one person can.

Edge Support

Edge support is the measure of how strong edge support is the way that the mattresses’ edges can stand up to. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. In our tests, we found that they were remarkably solid enough to allow people to lie on their edges without having to worry too much about sinkage, sagging and falling off of the bed. This is because of an encasement of foam that is placed around the coils in the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the level of firmness and the firmness of Saatva. Couples for instance, might not experience any sagging when they choose between the Firm or Luxe Firm choices, but might be able to feel a little discomfort around the edges when using the Plush Soft. In addition heavier people might feel more sinkage than the lighter ones.

Sex

If you and your partner are both sexually active it is crucial to find an appropriate mattress that will respond effectively when being intimate with your partner. This is where the Saatva Classic comes in, with a strong combination of both the ability to respond and friction, making it suitable for a range of sexual activities. The top of the pillow conforms to bodies when they are in contact with the surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be bouncy enough to permit movement, but not too loud to create the irritating noise of squeaking. The solid edge support permits couples to take full advantage of the whole space of Saatva. While this Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of traction for sex, it felt quite lacking when compared to its more rigid counterparts.

Off-gassing

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, the thing that sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up a lot in the bed. It doesn’t smell as unpleasant upon the purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses to test, we noticed how, instead of the standard cardboard box delivery the delivery staff arrived to set up the bed for us. We also examined the way it released less of the usual “new mattress” smell than other similar ones that went away quickly. This could be due to how it was built. Why Saatva

Ease of Movement

It is the Saatva has been proven to have a greater ease of movement than other hybrid mattresses, due to the interestingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination that is used to create its foundation. The bed sticks with the shape of the person when they lay down on the floor, but regains its original shape quickly when they get off of it. For comparison, mattresses with a memory foam top conform to the body per normal, however the feeling of being ‘trapped in comfort is stronger and makes it difficult for the user to leave.

Noise

Innerspring beds have made some bad rap over the years for making annoying sounds that get worse with each use. Saatva Classic, however Saatva Classic, on the other hand, does not fit into this category. We’ve already mentioned that the mattress’s structure is a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around coil systems. This not only offers solid support around the edges, it also reduces the sound that coils normally make. When we tried out changing positions and moving around the bed, we noticed how much less noise as well as squeaking were produced. However, since the Saatva mattress rests on coils, you can’t count on the quiet capability to last forever.

Durability

We’ve managed to conduct all performance tests for the Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to ask are these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be able for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure and how well it is able to perform when it comes to comfort, relief, and motion and comfort, the Saatva will be durable enough to last up to around 7 to 10 years.

Materials

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is composed of at the very least four layers, each with distinct capabilities. However, when they’re put together, they form an extremely durable, strong, bouncy, and overall sturdy hybrid mattress which can be used for any purpose. Let’s take a close look at all the layers and materials that make up the Saatva mattress.

Layer 1 The Soft and Breathable Surface

The first layer is an inch-thick Euro pillow top, which is used as the mattress’s sleeping surface. It’s composed of a mixture of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to provide a cushioned and comfortable area for you to lay down on. In both Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models, the product is made up of a 1.25-inch thick layer of polyfoam soft is utilized for the soft option, and the Firm option uses 1.5″ worth of firm polyfoam.

It is then quilted using the specially-designed Lumbar Zone Quilting design to offer much-needed relief from pressure on the hips and back. Organic cotton material is used to cover the pillow’s top surface. It is not only comfortable and breathable, but it also has a lot of antibacterial properties.

Layer 2: A Blend of Foam for Enhanced Lumbar Support

For all three firmness levels the support foam is inch thick and is placed beneath the first layer to provide a superior lumbar support system. The foam is made up of these components majority of the layer is made of polyfoam. The remainder is made out of memory foam. It is strategically placed in the middle of the mattress, allowing your back and shoulders to align without creating any discomfort. Why Saatva

This 4 inches-thick layer of foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to conform to different body shapes and ever-changing movements. It also allows for breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeping person cool and preventing them from becoming too hot.

Layer 4: Sturdy Foundation Core

Holding all three layers is the solid hourglass steel coils underneath the three layers. Customers have the option of choosing between two heights of a 4-inch layer to fit mattresses measuring 11.5″ or 7-inch for 14.5″ beds. These core coils aid the coils with pockets of foam to create an increased airflow system within the Saatva, plus the industry-grade components must be strong enough to withstand the weight of heavier people and objects.
