Overview: The Saatva Mattress

The Saatva Classic mattress, named after the high-end mattress specialist, is the best-selling luxury mattress in America and a top choice overall. Its exceptional relief in the lumbar area, including the neck and back, is one of its main selling points. A hybrid poly/memory foam is strategically placed in the middle of the mattress’ foundations. This foam provides much-needed support for back sleepers. The Saatva Classic is also a popular choice for stomach sleepers, as it provides comfort and support.

The Saatva has excellent cooling capabilities thanks to how the coils are designed. Two innerspring layers – one a foundation layer and the other for extra support – are strategically placed to allow for air circulation throughout the mattress, ultimately keeping the body cool while they are asleep. The spring coils respond to changing movements and are a great choice for couples who frequently change their sleeping positions or for couples looking for intimate moments. There are multiple sizes and firmness options for the Saatva Classic, including Firm, Plush Soft, Firm, as well as Luxury Firm.

Who should get the Saatva Classic Mattress

  • People who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs.
  • Combination sleepers, who frequently change their positions
  • Those who sleep in hot temperatures – the mattress has enough airflow to cool them
  • Couples looking for a mattress that isn’t too firm at the edges
  • Those looking for a bed that can perform well during sex
  • People who prefer to be in a sturdier, firmer, and durable mattress

We’ve given you an overview of the Saatva Classic. Now let’s look at the four other mattress companies and the best-selling products. We will compare every one of them by pointing out their similarities to the Saatva mattress, as well as the key differences that set each other apart. We will be focusing our attention on four companies: Sleep Number, Tempur-Pedic, DreamCloud, and Purple, with their innovative flagship mattress. Without anything else to obstruct our way, let’s start with Sleep Number!

Saatva vs. Sleep Number

Sleep Number is known for its wide range of adjustable air mattresses equipped with high-end features. It lets sleepers change the firmness and support levels according to their preferences with just a touch of their remote. The Sleep Number company has been in the bed industry for over 30 years. While specialty mattress companies are more recent, Sleep Number has been in the bed industry for over 30 years. They know a lot about how to offer a relaxing and flexible sleep experience. Sleep Number’s popular product is the 360 p5 mattress from the Performance series.

Puffy Vs Saatva

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Similarities

The Sleep Number 360 p5 Mattress works exceptionally well for flat sleepers, just like the Saatva. It is partly due to the construction of the mattress. Multiple foam layers are stacked on top, providing much-needed pressure relief. This helps to ease a variety of pains in the lumbar region and back.

The 360 p5 doesn’t come in a big box. The mattress is delivered to your home by white-glove technicians, similar to the Saatva. This eliminates any potential for off-gassing.

Differences

The 360 p5 is constructed differently – we’re talking about an adjustable airbed here – which explains why it’s understandably much pricier than the Saatva. Memory foam is also included, which traps heat and makes the mattress more responsive to constant movement. Despite the cons, The 360 p5 offers much better motion absorption than the Saatva, something that’s very ideal for couples and individuals who wish not to be disturbed!

Who Should Get the Sleep Number 360 p5 Mattress?

  • Back and stomach sleepers
  • Those who may have varying back pain issues
  • People looking for a mattress that can be adjusted in firmness and/or relief levels.
  • Those who do not like to be disturbed as they sleep

Saatva vs. Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic is known for their memory foam mattresses that provide greater comfort and relief. Even though the company only added innerspring hybrid variants very recently into their lineup, there’s no denying that they are certified experts and leaders in the field. TempurPedic mattresses are a common choice when you visit a mattress shop to find the best memory foam mattress. While there are many models to choose from, in this article we’ll take a look at the TEMPUR-Cloud, their most well-received product.

Similarities

Both the TEMPUR-Cloud and Saatva Classic are highly-acclaimed mattresses from well-respected mattress companies with flowery reviews about their overall reliability. They’re both also made of high-quality materials to ensure the sleepers get the best comfort and peaceful sleep. The TEMPUR Cloud is a great option for people who sleep on their backs. It provides enough pressure relief and support that the spine remains intact.

There are differences

Although the TEMPUR Cloud mattress provides luxury-grade back relief in the same manner as the Saatva’s, it is more expensive. It’s an all foam mattress that is made of high-performing materials. Expect it to be more expensive than the Saatva’s $912.

Being a memory foam mattress, the TEMPUR-Cloud should have a softer firmness level. It also allows for excellent body contouring, which is great news for side sleepers. While it may sound positive, take note that this mattress will most likely be prone to sinkage, which may cause restrictions in movement, especially among heavy-weighted sleepers.

Who Should Get the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud Mattress?

  • Those who prefer sleeping on memory foam
  • Side sleepers and back sleepers who enjoy soft pressure relief and contouring
  • Individuals and couples searching for a mattress that isn’t easily disturbed by sudden movements.
  • Light- to average-weighted sleepers

Saatva vs. DreamCloud

Just like Saatva, DreamCloud is a direct-to-consumer firm that offers luxury-level mattresses that seem to be a perfect fit for hotels and million-dollar mansions. Its innersprings are made from materials that surpass industry standards. The DreamCloud Classic, which is similar to the Saatva Classic, is one of the most popular products. While we can appreciate that we’ve found our closest competitor yet, there are quite plenty of differences that make the DreamCloud Classic stand out from the Saatva mattress!

white-bed

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Similarities

The innerspring coils in the DreamCloud as well as Saatva provide reliable, strong support. Each has pocketed coils on top of the foundation layer, providing the body with not just the support it needs, but also cooling capabilities to keep itself from getting too hot. The mattresses are firm enough not to allow for any sagging at the edges and comfortable enough to be used by anyone. They are very durable and should last many years.

Differences

DreamCloud’s key difference is that it’s a hybrid since the top memory foam layers are prominent. It has only one standard firmness option – if we rank the firmness rating from 1 to 10, it would be a solid 7. It may be supportive enough for average- to heavyweight sleepers, but a bit stiff for lighter-weights.

It is worth noting that the Premier upgrade has an improved comfort level due to the increased memory foam content. It is also significantly cheaper than Saatva’s retail price.

Who should get the DreamCloud Classic Mattress

  • Those looking for a great mattress with a tight budget
  • Side sleepers and stomach sleepers, preferably with an average weight
  • Individuals who prefer sleeping on a firmer surface
  • For back sleepers, the Premier upgrade is worth a try

Saatva vs. Purple

While other bed companies offer mattresses with a combination of features that are all too familiar to nearly every one of us, there’s one that makes it clear they are outstandingly unique from the rest. Purple is a mattress company that develops innovative technology to improve people’s sleeping quality. They’re best recognized for the state-of-the-art purple grid on their mattresses. Without much ado, let’s take a close look at the Purple Mattress, the company’s most famous product yet!

Similarities

Despite the glaring differences in how they’re constructed, both the Purple Mattress and the Saatva Classic perform remarkably when it comes to cooling. Purple’s GelFlex Grid, which is a special design by the company, allows for air circulation within the mattress to keep the body cool.

They’re bouncy enough for sleepers to move freely without hesitation while achieving it in different ways. What’s particularly nice about each of them is how the high-grade materials build up a high-quality mattress that’s not just rightly firm, but also welcoming.

There are differences

Although the Purple and Saatva work in different ways, you might notice a difference in how they feel. The grid technology makes Purple feel more gel-like than Saatva’s firm, but still fluid feeling. At the same time, the former isolates motion better. The Purple Mattress comes compressed in a box upon delivery, which may result in a quite unpleasant off-gassing compared to how the Saatva’s delivered.

Who should get the Purple Mattress?

  • Sleepers under 230 lbs. They should apply sufficient pressure to activate GelFlex grid contouring capabilities
  • Combination sleepers looking for a more flexible mattress than, say, the Saatva’s
  • All-foam mattresses are preferred by hot sleepers
  • Individuals sleeping with a restless partner at night

Firmness and Feel

When searching for the ideal mattress, the firmness and feel are among the most important aspects. How do you feel the Saatva Classic on your body? Does it have enough strength to allow you to sleep in different positions? Or is it too stiff for your liking? We tried the mattress out for ourselves to test the possibilities!

Puffy Vs Saatva

How Firm Is Saatva Classic? Saatva Classic?

The Saatva Classic has three varying levels of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. What is the best choice for you will depend on your personal experience and the specific circumstances. But if you want to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each of the three Saatva Classic versions to the test to determine how they perform on our scale of firmness, ranging from 1 to 10.

We started our test with our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve rated 3 out of 10. What we’ve seen right off the bat is how it was extremely comfortable lying on the side with the pillow at its at the top. We felt as if we were closer to getting body-hugged by this version of Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its softer foundation compared with other ones. However, that more malleable feel may not translate well with people who often lie flat, either on their stomachs or their back. Puffy Vs Saatva

Next up, we have the Firm version which is a striking contrast to the Plus Soft in terms of materials and rigidity. We could barely feel our bodies sinking into the mattress. The variant certainly does live up to its name! It is particularly beneficial for people who sleep on their backs or stomach because it provides more visible support. Certain people might have problems regarding sleeping on their sides. However, we give this rating an 8/10.

When we looked at the Premium Firm version one of the initial things we noticed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils, meanwhile, which hold the mattress together are firmer, making this version of Saatva different in terms of design. As we lay on our backs and slept, we not only have the proper amount of sinking, but also the support that we needed. It’s the same with sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Depending on the different experience of each person’s, the situation may be hit-or-miss. In that regard we rate our Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 /10 on the firmness scale.

Testing with Varying Body Weights

Apart from the firmness test We’ve also analyzed how different body weights react sleeping on three versions that comprise the Saatva Classic. Let’s start first with the Plush Soft mattress. Made out of an unsteady coil foundation and an even softer pillow top is no wonder that it’s been popular with light weights. Average-weighing folks between 130 to 200 lbs may like the body hugging and sinking sensation of this Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Puffy Vs Saatva

The firm mattress could be too stiff for those who weigh less than 175 pounds, but when you weigh a lot over that, this version is most likely the better choice. With a stronger foundation across the firm mattress, it provides the most stable support when sleeping on your belly or the back specifically for those who weigh a lot. For those who weigh less, they might find sleeping on their bed uncomfortable due to not enough soft foam surface to ease this.

bed-mattress

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

With the Luxury Firm mattress, most of its features are adequate to accommodate a variety in bodyweights. If you’re one who weighs 130 pounds or 250 pounds, you will find a sense of relief and relaxation sleeping flat on your back when you sleep on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers may enjoy the same, however it might require additional support for people who are heavier. For side sleepers it’s generally suitable for all body weights, but it’s a bit of a hit-or-miss.

Performance

What is the way that this Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even to how it reacts during intimate moments, we delved further into the depths to test its performance levels. These is the result!

Motion Isolation and Transfer

The Saatva was lackluster in motion isolation in comparison to other hybrid mattresses. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is less than one-half inch, yet the mattress still manages to absorb a significant degree of motion due to its ultra-modern fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not do well in isolating motions. The Plush Soft variant, however performs a bit better in comparison.

If you’re in a relationship and you’re looking towards a mattress that one of you is moving and the other would not even notice then you should consider the Saatva Classic may not be the most suitable. We tested it for motion transfer, we saw how one of our team members slowly lost focus as the other member began making movements – from minor to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses are known for having poor motion absorption, and the Saatva is made up of innerspring elements. It could be a bad mattress choice for you, particularly for those who sleep lightly who’s often disturbed.

Pressure Relief

Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to reduce the pressure experienced by the body’s tension points. We evaluated the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by drawing an image of pressure on the surface. Upon receiving the results, it’s shown that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. In terms of hip and shoulder areas, this can vary depending on a variety of variables like the firmness level, personal circumstance, and the weight. Puffy Vs Saatva

Temperature Control

Its Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we’re able to be more certain that this is one of the top ones with incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress is made up of two layers of the spring coil, one of which is pockets. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling people who typically sleep hot. It’s not just capable of cooling temperatures however, the pillow’s cover is made of organic cotton, making the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for those who live in near-tropical conditions, and for couples who, when they are sleeping together, will are able to heat the bed faster than one person could.

Edge Support

Edge support is a measure of how strong the edges of the mattress hold up. For the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. In our tests, we found that they were remarkably solid enough to allow people to lie on their edges without having to worry about sinkage, sagging or falling off the mattress. This is due to a foam encasement that’s secured around the coil layers inside the mattress. The durability can differ based on the firmness levels of the Saatva. Couples like this might not experience any sliding when they choose between the Firm or Luxury Firm options but may experience a bit of discomfort at the edges of Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more might feel more sinkage than the lighter ones.

Sex

When you are with your spouse and are sexually active, it’s crucial to find a mattress that can respond with ease when having intimate moments. Here’s the place where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of the ability to respond and friction, making it suitable for a range of sexual activities. The top of the pillow conforms to the bodies in close to the bed’s surface and the innerspring foundation allows the mattress to bounce enough to permit movement, but not too loud for the annoying noise of squeaking. The strong edge support allows the couples to take full advantage of the whole surface of the Saatva. Although the Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of sexual traction however, it was a bit sluggish in comparison to its more robust counterparts.

Off-gassing

The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But what makes it stand out from others is how it doesn’t take up much of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon the purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses to test, we noticed how, instead of the standard cardboard box, delivery personnel came in to set the mattress for us. We also checked the way it released less of the typical ‘new mattress smell’ in comparison to similar mattresses and it went away quickly. This could be due to the way the mattress was made. Puffy Vs Saatva

Easy of Movement

Saatva Saatva has been found to have a greater ease of movement when compared to other hybrid mattresses due to the unique polyfoam/innerspring combination employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed is fixed against the physique of the person once they lie down on the ground, but recovers its original shape as soon as they leave the bed. To contrast, mattresses that have an upper layer of memory foam will are shaped to fit the body as usual, but the feeling of being trapped in comfort is much more apparent and makes it difficult for the person to get out.

white-bed

> > Click Here to Check Out the Saatva Mattress < <

Noise

Innerspring beds have made a bad rep through the years for making annoying noisesthat gradually become worse upon continuous use. Its Saatva Classic, on the other hand, does not fit into this category. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s inner structure contains a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around coil systems. Not only does it provide solid support along the edges, but it also blocks out the sounds that coils typically produce. When we tried out changing places and moving around the bed, we were amazed by how there was less noise, squeak and buzz were produced. However, as the Saatva mattress rests on coils you can’t count on the quiet capability to last forever.

Durability

After we’ve had the chance to test all of the test of the performance with Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we need to consider is these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be expected for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and structure and the way it performs in regards to comfort, relief, and motion as well, the Saatva is expected to be sturdy enough to last around 7 to 10 years.

Materials

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is composed of at least four layers, each with unique abilities. However, when they’re combined, they create solid, durable, bouncy, and overall sturdy hybrid mattress which can be used to serve any purpose. Let’s take a close look at all the layers and materials that compose the Saatva bed.

Layer 1 The Soft and Breathable Surface

The initial layer is three inches of thick Euro pillow top, which is used for the mattress’s bed surface. It’s comprised of a combination of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to provide an incredibly comfortable and cushioned area to lie on. In both Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models there is a 1.25-inch layer of soft polyfoam is utilized in the Soft option, in contrast, the Firm option makes use of 1.5″ worth polyfoam that is firm.

The top is quilted using an exclusive Lumbar Zone Quilting design to provide the needed pressure relief for the hips and back. Organic cotton material is used to cover the pillowtop surface. Not only is it comfortable and breathable, but it also has plenty of antibacterial qualities.

Layer 2: A Blend of Foam for Lumbar Support with Enhanced

In all three levels of firmness, an inch-thick support foam is placed under the first layer to create a much superior support for the lumbar region. The foam is made up of these components: more than half of the layer is made of polyfoam. The remaining part is made of memory foam. It is strategically placed along the center of the mattress, allowing that the spine to more align without creating any kind of discomfort that might arise. Puffy Vs Saatva

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Support Layer

The third layer of the Saatva is a support layer, and additionally, one of the two coil systems that make up the mattress. The 4-inch-thick, individually foam-wrapped micro coils is flexible enough to conform to different body shapes and constantly changing movements. It also allows for breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeper cooled and away from becoming too hot.

Layer 4: Sturdy Foundation Core

Holding all three layers is a solid foundation made of hourglass steel coils beneath them. Customers can choose between two different heights that are 4 inches for mattresses that measure 11.5″ or 7-inch layers for 14.5″ beds. These coils help the foam-pocketed coils to produce an improved airflow system through the Saatva, plus the industry-grade components must be strong enough to withstand the weight of heavier people and other objects. Around them is a strong foam perimeter encasement.

girl-sleeping

Puffy is a leading direct-to-consumer mattress dealer in the country. A proudly Canadian-owned and operated company, Puffy made its name in the bedding market through proprietary foam technologies such as their Cooling Cloud foam and their Climate Comfort foam.

While Puffy remains one of the premier North American mattress deals that specialize in fully foam mattresses, they are by far not the only players vying for customer attention. How does Puffy hold up against some of the other popular brands out there? Let’s find out.

The Puffy Mattress: A Review Puffy Vs Saatva

Before getting into any of the comparisons, it’s good to review the ins and outs of Puffy as a mattress company, so we have a better sense of how it stacks up compared to the competition.

Types of Mattresses Available

Puffy has two mattresses available on its website, the Puffy Original and the Puffy Lux. Both mattresses come with a complete run of sizes, from Twin to California King. Both mattresses also share the same construction, save for the Puffy Lux’s additional foam layer bringing its mattress height to 12 inches compared to the Puffy Original’s 10-inch height.

Every Puffy mattress begins with Cooling Cloud foam. This proprietary foam composition by Puffy ensures a uniform heat transfer while providing a soft and supportive sleep environment. Climate Control foam and the firm support base are added to the Cooling Cloud foam top. The Climate Control foam acts as an additional intermediary between the top gel foam and the bottom support base while increasing the mattresses’ ability to regulate body temperature. The support base serves as the final foundation of the entire mattress, giving it structure and preventing you from sinking too deep into the bed. The entire mattress was created with temperature regulation, spine alignment, pressure relief and temperature regulation in mind.

The Puffy Lux has an additional layer of foam, the Plush Dual Cloud foam, giving you two extra inches of foam and helping you ease built of tension in your pressure points from a long day out. The Puffy Lux and the Puffy Original are wrapped in a hypoallergenic and grippy top and bottom mattress cover, respectively.

Pricing Point for Mattresses

When it comes to choosing the right mattress for you, price is going to be a major determining factor. Puffy’s pricepoint falls within the middle of the price spectrum, not too expensive yet not necessarily on the cheap side either.

A Puffy mattress entry level, which is the original Twin-sized Puffy mattress, will cost you just CAD$750. But be warned that entering the Queen sizes and onwards will have you break the bank with over CAD$1,000 in costs. The Puffy Lux mattress will cost you more than CAD$2,000, and the exact size of the original is also available.

Let’s compare Puffy to other brands online, now that we have all the details.

Puffy Mattresses vs. Emma Mattresses

Emma is an online icon, thanks to their extensive use of online marketing. While Puffy is a proudly Canadian company, Emma’s source of their technologies comes from their German-born designs geared explicitly towards temperature control and spinal alignment.

Will this European-designed bed be able to ship anywhere?

Types of Mattresses Available

Emma Original uses a proprietary foam technology similar to Puffy. It is designed to provide a plush and soft feel while still maintaining the structure of a mattress. This hybrid and balanced softness can be attributed to their memory foam and latex foam technologies. Their leading foam later used in all their mattresses is called Airgocell and is designed to adapt to pressure to better respond to body movements while sleeping.

Beneath this top layer of Airgocell is Emma’s visco-elastic memory foam, which acts as a secondary layer of plush foam between the Airgocell and the supportive base layer. This is similar to Puffy’s construction of their Cooling Cloud foam and their pressure release foam layers on top of their firm supportive core foam. Though what’s interesting with Emma’s mattresses is that their supportive foundational foam (the bottom-most layer) has ridges all around its top, which is meant to provide an additional spinal alignment benefit and counter any pressure you put on the mattress.

Emma sells only the original Puffy mattress, unlike other sellers. Emma does not sell Emma Lux or Emma Premier types, but the standard 10-inch mattress Emma uses to pull its entire catalog.

Price Point of Mattresses

Emma has only one type of mattress so it will be much easier to compare prices to Puffy’s original mattress. Emma certainly makes it much easier for new customers to try out their mattresses as their entry-level price point is at a low CAD$419 compared to Puffy’s CAD$700 twin-sized beds. Even Emma’s Queen-sized mattress is less expensive than Puffy’s twin.

Also, Emma’s single mattress offering avoids any of the tough higher price choices that Puffy has. You won’t need to choose between a standard or premium version as Emma has backed all its focus on its standard size.

Final Winner

Puffy has Emma beat when it comes to choice. You can choose from a variety of mattresses, including premium and original versions, as well as additional accessories such sheets, covers, pillows and bases.

But Emma does have one advantage on their side: price. Emma is a lot cheaper than Puffy, but offers the same premium comfort. Emma has similar customer protection plans, with warranties and trial plans identical to that of Puffy. Emma may be the right brand for you if you are new to the mattress market or don’t want to spend too much.

Puffy Mattresses vs. Nectar Mattresses

We now have Nectar, a proudly New York-raised mattress manufacturer. Nectar is a company that promises to deliver a range of mattresses directly to your home. It was once regarded as one of America’s fastest-growing ebusinesses.

Nectar has similar foam technology to Puffy, and offers a wider range of mattresses. This expanded catalog will be the difference between Nectar and Puffy.

Types of Mattresses Available

Nectar has not 1, not 2, but 3 total mattresses available on its website for purchase, all with varying degrees of softness, plushness, and even material compositions. Although Nectar already has a clear advantage over Puffy in terms of the variety of options, it is still unclear if more choices will equal better quality mattresses.

Nectar’s original 12-inch Nectar Memory Foam mattress was their first mattress. The five layers of this mattress are similar to the Puffy foam mattresses. Their Nectar Smart Layer is the first layer. This gel memory foam helps relieve pressure due to its high density construction.

The Nectar Smart Layer is then supported by two more foams, the Nectar Dynamic Support Layer and their Stay-Stable Support Layer. Both assist in stabilizing your body while you sleep, minimizing any motion transfer, and keeping the mattress in place on the bed base. This is all wrapped in Nectar’s quilted Cool Cover that regulates temperature and Nectar’s shift-resistant lower covering, which provides stability by securing the mattress to the bed frame. The Nectar Memory Foam mattress may be a good choice if you are looking for a mattress that is medium-firm and allows your body to be wrapped in memory foam as you sleep.

The Nectar Memory Foam mattress has a premier version, akin to the Puffy and Puffy Lux versions. The Nectar Premier memory Foam mattress comes with all the same features as the standard Nectar Memory Foam. However, it comes with a thicker and more advanced Nectar Smart Layer, now with enhanced ActiveCoolHD. The total height of the mattress is now 13 inches. It is specifically designed to further assist in keeping the mattress cool and regulating your body temperature while you sleep.

The Nectar Premier Copper mattress is the last and most expensive mattress available from Nectar. The Nectar Premier Copper mattress is a combination of the best features of the two previous Nectar mattresses, and adds thickness to each layer. At 14-inches, you’ll be sure not to be feeling anything but the plushy and supportive mattress. The maximum temperature-regulating quilted cover has been upgraded to include copper-infused threads, which help dissipate heat.

Pricing Point for Mattresses

If we’re talking about price points, then Nectar comes in reasonably affordable $499 for their Twin sized original memory foam mattress. You won’t need to add too much if you want a queen size and larger, as these mattresses come in at $899 and up.

The premium versions are more expensive and will take more out of your pocket. The queen-sized Nectar Premier will set you back $1299, while you can get the more luxurious Nectar Premier Copper for $1699. Still, these mattresses are already a great deal thicker than the ones Puffy has on offer. The Puffy Lux is still more expensive than the Nectar mattresses in its largest size.

Even better for Nectar is that all purchases usually come with $399 in freebies. These freebies may change depending on the season but typically include mattress covers, protectors, and pillows. Every purchase comes with a lifetime guarantee, a full year trial, and free shipping to make it even easier.

Final Winner

Nectar appears to be a better choice than Puffy in terms of cost and the sheer number of options that are available to customers. Even the value of each purchase of a Nectar mattress is better by comparison as Nectar throws in additional freebies on top of the purchase itself.

The only flaw in Nectar would be the availability of its products to non-US residents. Puffy ships only to Canada; Nectar ships only to the US. Your choice will eventually be dictated by where you are located in the world.

Puffy Mattresses vs. Casper Mattresses

We had to include Casper. Not including Casper would be like not including Coca-cola or Pepsi when making a list comparing what the best soft drink would be. Casper’s high price is a common comparison with newer brands but it remains a top choice for many shoppers looking for a mattress.

Puffy uses Casper’s higher price points as a clear point to try out the cheaper Puffy mattress. Can Casper be beaten by this Canadian brand?

There are many types of mattresses available

Casper offers four options to choose from instead of Puffy’s limited selections. Three of the variants have two variations each. Casper offers seven different mattresses, with three of them having two variants each.

Casper’s first mattress is a traditional foam mattress that uses two layers of foam for its total construction. Known as the Element mattress, this is Casper’s entry-level mattress for those looking for something simple with no frills. Casper uses their proprietary Airscape perforated foam as the top layer of their mattresses to better let heat escape while you sleep. Below this is their high-density foam base that prevents sagging and supports your whole body while you rest.

Next up on the Casper catalog is the Casper Original. Three layers of foam are used in the Casper Original. The first is the Airscape foam. This is followed by the Zoned Support Memory Foam. The Zoned Support foam is unique because it is essentially an area-specific memory foam, with some parts being firmer than others depending on which component needs more support (hence the term zoned).

What’s interesting is that you can get the Casper Original as a hybrid mattress. Hybrid mattresses are more popular these days as they combine the new memory foam technology with the consistently improved and reliable design of inner coils you may be used to in older mattresses. These Casper coils add lift to your bed and structural support to help you stay in bed when you need to and get out of it when you’re done.

These two mattresses are more expensive than any we have seen before. The Casper Nova Hybrid Snow Mattress was specifically made for heat regulation. The mattress’s multilayer foam and coil technology is enhanced with cooling gels and thermal bands.

The Wave Hybrid, Casper’s premium mattress that offers supportive sleep, is the last. This mattress features the same cooling technology as the Nova Hybrid Snow mattresses. However, the Wave’s selling point is its additional three layers of perforated foam, giving you the support you need without being overly stiff. Casper’s premium throughout bed design will provide you with the best spinal support and comfort.

Price Point of Mattresses

Casper’s biggest problem is its price. It’s no secret that Casper tends to edge towards the premium side when pricing their mattresses, but the price you’ll need to pay for some of their more premium mattresses is ridiculous at times. Puffy Vs Saatva

Casper has its entry-level Element mattress at a manageable $545 for a twin size. Casper Element mattresses in queen sizes and larger will cost you at least $800.

Things start to get expensive when you consider the Original, Nova, and Wave variants, as their initial mattresses all cross $1,000 easily when considering a queen-size mattress. The Nova and Wave variants double this number, while the Wave mattress is about $4,500.

Final Winner

Puffy is the clear winner here because of its simplicity and price. People on a tight budget won’t be able to pay twice as much for a Casper mattress if they can find a mattress that is equally good, or better, at a lower price.

Puffy Mattresses vs. Nolah Mattresses

Nolah, another American-owned mattress company, specializes in hybrid and foam mattresses. Nolah does not use outdated materials like the old memory foam and pure foam latex but rather their patented AirFoam mattress layers for all their mattresses. Puffy Vs Saatva

Nolah’s foam is stated to be 100% temperature neutral and provides better pressure relief for your joints. Let’s compare this to the Puffy mattresses.

Types of Mattresses Available

Nolah offers three different mattresses: the Noah Original 10-inch, Nolah Signature 12-inch and the Nolah Evolution 15-inch. The Signature and the Original share many similarities in construction as they are both fully foam mattresses. The Nolah Evolution proves to be the outlier as it is hybrid in design and uses Nolah’s bed inner-coil configuration.

The Original and Signature mattresses share the same first three layers of foam, the first being the layer of Nolah’s AirFoam to provide pressure relief and temperature regulation. These functions are further supported by the two additional layers of foam, the Deep Resilience Foam and High-Density Base Foam. Signature mattresses have extra thickness in their foam layers, and an additional firm AirFoam layer underneath the base foam. This allows you to easily adjust how firm or soft you would like your mattress to feel. Puffy Vs Saatva

Nolah’s Evolution mattress is Nolah’s best-selling model. This is due to the HDMax Eco Support Coils Nolah created to provide better pressure relief, additional cooling, and structural support around the edges.

Pricing Point for Mattresses

Despite being one of the newer direct-to-consumer mattresses out there, Nolah prices close to how higher-end mattress dealers price their mattresses. Their starting Queen size Original mattress comes in at $899 and doubles to $1600 if you opt for the Nolah Evolution. While it is not as bad as brands like Casper or Purple, it certainly isn’t a bargain by any means.

Final Winner

Nolah is still cheaper than Puffy, despite being more expensive in the price range. Nolah’s variety of options to pick also helps its case as the better mattress dealer, but you’ll need to be located in the United States if you want to enjoy their range of mattresses.

Puffy Mattress vs. DreamCloud Mattress

Our final contender for the list, DreamCloud’s mattresses are built with luxury in mind, without reaching inordinate prices. DreamCloud is a hybrid mattress brand that specializes in providing quality mattresses at affordable prices. Puffy Vs Saatva

Let’s take a look at what DreamCloud has to share.

There are many types of mattresses available

DreamCloud sells three mattress on their website: the DreamCloud original and DreamCloud Premier. Each bed uses similar hybrid construction of coil and foam, with the higher-end models adding more layers and thickness to the composition.

Five essential layers are required to make the DreamCloud original and all DreamCloud mattresses. The first layer is their gel memory foam made to contour to your body while you rest. This is then supported by their Sink-In-Just-Right layer, the Targeted Support Coil layer, and the essential base foam layer, which all help the top layer provide optimum comfort without sacrificing support. To give the mattress a cool and soft touch, they have added a cashmere-quilted top layer. Puffy Vs Saatva

The DreamCloud Premier Rest and DreamCloud Premier Rest are identical mattresses. They have additional layers of foam and higher support coils. The main difference the two have is the added height given by the Premier Rest. Every Premier version includes pressure-relieving foam layers as well as enhanced support layers. All designed to provide maximum comfort.

Pricing Point for Mattresses

DreamCloud has three mattress options, each with varying quality. However, their entry-level pricing is $699 for the Twin size original mattress. Though some DreamCloud versions can be a bit pricey, they never breach the $2,000 mark. This says a lot for a mattress brand that makes a more complicated hybrid mattress approach without raising prices too much. Puffy Vs Saatva

Each purchase also comes with $399 worth of goods like additional pillows, mattress protectors, and bedsheets. You can rest assured that your DreamCloud purchase comes with a lifetime warranty as well as a full year of no-strings-attached sleeping trial.

Final Winner

DreamCloud’s mattresses offer more variety and support than the conventional memory foam mattresses Puffy has while keeping the same price point checked. If you’re part of DreamCloud’s serviceable areas, we would highly suggest trying one out for you.

In Summary Puffy Vs Saatva

It seems that Puffy is correct about its claim of being more accessible in price than Casper. Puffy seems to be behind other brands in terms of functionality, price, and reach.

If you’re a Canadian resident, Puffy is sure to be on your list of go-to brands for mattresses. But if you’re a US resident, you won’t be able to get Puffy to your doorstep anyway, so we recommend going with another brand that services the US directly. DreamCloud’s innovative hybrid technologies are what we think would be the best among all brands. We recommend visiting their website if you’re looking for a mattress.
